No barriers, no ice breakings cuz its Gecb!

Remarks :

The college is government managed so there is enough freedom. There are no uniforms, mobile phone use is restricted but not banned. And its a small college with about 1800 students so its easy to socialize and everyone's so nice to u . As they say, little things are realky cute.

Entrance Preview :

I took the Kerala Engineering Entrance exam, got a rank of 1936. The admission process was simple with a brief interview with the Dean.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Currently I am following a revised curriculum under the new Kerala Technological University. The syllabus is good but what is more exciting is the 3-4 months vacation we get each year.

Internships Opportunities :

Currently, there are two companies working under the incubation cell of the college. They hire interns for a decent stipend.

Placement Experience :

Last year about 90% of the final year students got placements in prestigious institutes which includes wipro, TCS,etc. Also there's an Mtech program which is being assisted by Mercedes Benz which directly places the Mtech graduates into their company.

College Events :

The first main event of each academic year is the fresher's day which is the most attractive event. The freshers are taken into the loving family pf Gecb, its a heartwarming experience. Sargam-is the name of the arts festival .It is another big event -a time when all the students come together and enjoy the talent of their colleagues. Aagneya-the college festival takes place in March. It is usually held in the Kanakakunnu palace grounds in the centre of the city. Its a great recreational spot so the public participation is maximum. We try to stage some great performers well known to the public every year. Besides these , festivals for charity are held by the Nss unit and the mechanical department. The Inspire programme by the mechanical department stands by the orphanages and old age homes in the city and is a huge success every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Since its a government funded college, the fee is very low and if u belong to an economically backward community it is almost cost free.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There is the Nikola Tesla scholarship of 10k rs funded by the IEEE society which is given for the winner of a series of quizes and exams from the freshers.

Campus Life :

The labs are in good condition especially the Mtech labs which has machines from Mercedes Benz. The gender ratio is almost equal but the slight majority are the women. The only good thing lacking is a large ground. But students have access to the university stadium and the police stadium which are in a 1km radius. The archery team and the cricket team are pretty good.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facilities are good. A new men's hostel opened this year. Both women's and men's hostels are near to the college with adequate security and wifi coverage. The college canteen has great homely food at very reasonable prices.hey, where can u get meals for 30 rs.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network is amazing. Many of the faculty members are alumni. They share their fond memories with us. The seniors are awesome. They are really friendly and helpful from day1.

Exam Structure :

The exams include two internally evaluated series exams and a University exam which usually take place two months apart. After the university exam, the sem break lasts for 1-1.5 months which is the time for students to take up internship. The lab exams are internally evaluated and are held begire university exams.

Faculty :

The faculty is really great. There are a lot of guest faculty who have great experience in the industrial sector. They impart more than just theoretical knowledge.
