What Students Say
Likes
- The canteen is the best, we have 3 or more canteens in the college and 6th floor one is the best, the college and also has really good bakery and coffee.
- Really good and helpful people. While the stereotype for NMIMS students might be right, Mithibai students are really a good crowd to be around.
- The psychology teachers are really sweet and helpful, they understand you’re from bachelor’s and will guide you through everything you need to know.
Dislikes
- Having no campus will always kind of be sad as we only have a building, and it takes forever to catch hold of the lifts yo get to your classes.
- Their so proper way of communication between the college and the students so many times students don’t know half of the stuff going on.
- Some teachers might be really strict regarding their rules, proxies and being late.
Course Curriculum Overview
so far, the curriculum is really great and interesting for a socio/ psych subject combo. There aren't too many tests and assignments which is also great because it can get really hard to juggle things. There are many modules for the same semester and all of them are completely different if not opposite like for universal human values one day we will be studying positive emotions and affirmations and the other day constitution/ articles so there's that. I think the college curriculum teaches really practical stuff in the sense it will be really helpful in the future whatever your field might be. They have a lot of subjects irrespective of the course that might seem really useless like the Indian knowledge system, universal human development, Environmental concerns and management, and your OES whatever they might be but you'll learn soon enough that make you gain a lot of extra but essential knowledge that will be really helpful in the future.
Internships Opportunities
I'm in the first month I've college and I've already gotten an internship in my field so safe to say I'm really impressed with the internship opportunities. They also have clubs and opportunities to HELP you look for internships. So the college is really helpful in that matter. So not getting internships will not be a problem here I think.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm not sure about the scholarships because the fees for BA courses are pretty inexpensive already and more if you're under a reservation category, I was from the general category and I paid 13k for 1st year including all costs for the FYBA psychology course, so you can only imagine how low it goes for other reservation categories. This fee will include a library, WiFi, a lift, and all other facilities.
Campus Life
There are many opportunities on campus like everyday we have many people coming in class and talking about their clubs and events. The main competition of Mumbai University YOUTH FESTIVAL also has many opportunities to participate and help you know more people to get more experience and exposure to other College as well. Other than that you have to join one club like NCC, NSS or DLLE for Ngos and social work.
Admission
okay so for cutoff courses you're eligible for the course if you have passed from HSC or any other equivalent board in 12th, but if you're general I would say you should have gotten 86-90% atleast because if you're from courses that are in high demand like mine (FYBA psychology) it's really hard to get in. I got 91% and I got on the 4th merit list so you can only imagine what the competition is like. But if you have courses like BSc you can get in with even 60% So it's really just a matter of what course you have. Once you've gotten in and your name is on the merit list ( you'll receive a mail and the list will be available on the website.) you'll have to submit the documents and pay the fees online and then they'll give you the options for the subjects.
Faculty
Some teachers are really nice while some are not, really just depends on what course you have. From my experience all the psychology teachers are really sweet and helpful. But the faculty really sucks at communicating with the students, you're supposed to check the site everyday for everything or you'll miss most of the really imp stuff.
