Rizvi College

  • Washrooms can be more hygenic, most of the times handwash is not there
  • Junior college crowd has a kind of rowdy behavior

Course Curriculum Overview :

1. Mostly the cirriculum got me intrested because of the Ai course that we have in 3rd year. 2. Honestly I believe MUs cirriculum is not strong enough for a student to be prepared for the real world, they have to do alot of extra work from their side, as the subjects changes drastically from a sem to another, and students dont get enough time to grasp much of the subject. 3. A subject should be thought in 2 parts in a year which is 1 part in first sem and 2nd in later sem, this can help student grasp more of the subject. Apart from that i believe teaching methos id quite similar to other colleges, just how usually teachers teach, some of the faculty tho, prioritize practical knowledge while others as usual complete their syllabus and leave. 4. The exams are just as they should be a semester exam in 4 month.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I am not aware of tuition fee increase policy tho from past 3 years the tuitiin fee is just as it was. As I am in last year of this course i paid approx 35k for this year 32k for last and i had changes college in 2nd year so i was not here in 1st year but the fees was around 30k so a total of 100k Students are allowed to sit and attend lectures if they are not able to pay the fees on time one of my class mates is allowed to sit in class, but only if you have a talk with the course's HOD or principle, and for 1st and 2nd year students are allowed to pay in installments When i joined this college in2nd year i was shocked and impressed by the fact that they got us internship for the ganpati holiddays, which was only for a week but i believe this was better than most of the colleges in Mumbai

Campus Life :

TechnoGeeks is a techfest that takes place very year and there are other fests too of different course however Jashn-e-Rizvi is a common fest of the college that take place around Dec-Jan Library of Rizvi college is I believe one of the best Libraries i have ever sat in they have a digital screen where a student can checkk if a book is available in libraryor not Rizvi college is a good college for sports quota students it participates in various regional, college and state level competitons, even al number of famous cricketers are alumni of Rizvi There are numerous clubs and groups like NSS, NCC, Cultural commitee, Literary Arts Commitee etc

Admission :

Eligibilty is 50+% in maths for computer science studen and 50+ % overall there are no entrance exams required. Application forms are available on the college website which has to be filled after filling MU's Application form Muslim minority seats are reserved i am not sure of on how much. I believe if a small entrance exam is taken then the college can filter out students and the course can have actually good students as compared to now

Faculty :

Faculty to student ratio for my course was 60 to 1, which i believe is a good ratio and the faculty can give necesarry attention to every student as the lectures duration ranges from 45 min - 1 hour, depending upon the year of course. Most of the Faculty is very knowledgeable and has very good understanding of what they are teaching. I am connected to myu cours's HODs very nicely can interact with them in a frank manner they are very friendly and approachable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Firstly, I never chose bsc as a earning source or for jobs. I'm very interested in learning biology, especially microbiology. Our professors gives us practical knowledge along with theory. Our botony teacher Mr. Kanade sir is very supportive in businesses related to botony. Such as spirulina cultivation. He showed us an interview of a 23 yr old man who is earning in lacs through spirulina cultivation.

For eligibility, you must have graduated in any field. The average package is 2lac. Most of the students apply for placement but the result is hardly about 5-10%. After my degree, I will pursue a postgraduate and then will apply for Ph.D.

Placement Experience:

After the 5th semester, all the students are eligible for the placement and Internships provided by the College. Various well known companies comes for the placement cell and picks the students who has not only scored well in his/her exams but also how much interactive they were during interview and how much basic and verious knowledges they have apart from there course. Highest package was 4-5 lakh per annum and average 2.5-3 lakh per annum. The selection of candidates in the placement cell are for all the various job profiles for ex. Software Engineer , ui/ux , Cyber security , web developer / designer and etc etc. In a batch of class around 60-70% students were placed in placement and Internships. I had planned to get the degree in cs and to learn ui ux design and to apply for the intership for 2-3 companies so after that I can apply for the big and famous companies like FAANG.

Overall, the college manages to imbibe work-level competitiveness among students. Due to the lack of support from the college in several aspects, as explained above, students are taught to be self-sufficient and not rely on the college for persistent help and guidance.
