Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The specific aspect of mine is to choose the course as geography honors to pursue my graduation because it has a wide scope in present terms as well as in the future. It is beneficial because it helps to understand the relationship between human beings and nature. Improvement is required in providing more practical knowledge instead of theoretical as this field requires more practical knowledge and observations than theoretical. The time period provided for the exams is enough but dealing with the statistical aspect it requires a bit more time as 3-4 hours are not more than enough to deal with the statistical queries in geography.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement cell is provided in college but it is not well developed or efficiently work. Their is need to give emphasis over improvising the placement cell because not very much placement are provided to students. The highest package provided are between 4-6 lakh per annum and the companies were as such Godrej,Dell, etc. The percentage of students getting placement are less than 25% and the minimum requirement for placement is that students need to be in their 3rd year i.e 5 or 6th semester of their college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees are affordable and are minimal but the exam charges which are taken on a subject basis are quite costlier than they should be. The scholarships are provided within the college but no proper information related to it are made available to students which makes it difficult for them to get the one or to fill out the form related to scholarships. Even more of the scholarships are brought for unprivileged and backward classes. Not such scholarships or financial help are provided to general or unreserved categories that need to get attention through college or university premises.

Campus Life

1.5

The annual fest that takes place is Lehren in Kalindi College which is not as good as other colleges but it's quite fine to enjoy with your friends. Every month, several workshops and seminars are conducted for students in various fields to help them in developing their skills and knowledge. The books and other journals are well-made and available in the libraries related to every course. The sports and other events take place but the infrastructure is not at all good it needs complete renovation as buildings are cracked and furniture needs to be furnished again including sports materials are old and torn out which makes it difficult for students to play sports. The clubs and other societies work actively but few initiatives are required to build other important clubs like the photography club more focus should be given to conducting events at regular intervals within these societies and clubs.

Admission

The one is eligible to pursue the course in Kalindi College or any other University of Delhi colleges in which geography course is available by giving CUET exam conducted by NTA. So after giving exam they need to register themselves on DU portal which were made open after exams and then when the result of CUET will be declared they need to fill their preferences of colleges within the given university according to their choice. The students need to ensure that they must give more preference to their course than the college as it matters most. The one will get the degree of University of Delhi only in last so ig one will give more preference over course it will help them to get better future scopes and large number of fields can open for them to make their career in. The time frequency provided to conduct the examination was more than enough than CUET and the paper difficulty level was moderate which can be resolved if one has studied class 12 NCERT well.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty-wise specifically in my faculty the teacher-student ratio is fine as an approx 25-28 students one teacher is allotted which is a valid ratio. The teachers and other faculty members are always ready to support and help students in every possible manner. They also make students learn about new skills and provide knowledgeable information. Even teachers provide their contact numbers or other sources through which students can connect at any time when it is required. Teachers are friendly and try to build a friendly environment in the classroom with interactive sessions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’m doing History (Hons) at DCAC. I took this course because I had interest in this particular subject. The syllabus is big and covers Indian and world history. And I am also preparing for UPSC.. from there I came to know that those books which are referred in classrooms are very helpful even for UPSC and the syllabus which we study is very vast which covers indian history and world history . Teachers are good but teaching is old-style, mostly lectures. Not many group works or projects. I feel more field trips, workshops, and interactive classes should happen. Exams come two times – December and May. Papers are long answer type. If you attend class and revise, you can do well. Not too hard. Course is more theory, not much practical.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very well defined and comprehensive. The St. Stephen's College is ranked by NIRF as one of the top colleges in India for B.Sc and B.A Hons. in various subjects. The course curriculum changes every few years so that the students are getting the latest knowledge. Exams are held time-to-time in every semester and the difficulty level of exams is not very hard, it's moderate. One thing I do not like is that even after paying such high fees for tuition, we also have to pay 2500-3000rs per exam as exam fees.
