Course Curriculum Overview :
The B.Tech CSE course here is very diverse, it packs in almost every aspect of my subject. The major highlights were that most of stuff here is based on practical learning, the questions asked in the examinations are 100% relevant and by research you will find that they might be inspired by the interview / hackathon questions by the top MNCs. We are not trained at a normal college level, it seems they have a competitive level for day to day tests. Yes, It makes our job as students difficult but is helpful in the long run. We here have start-up opportunities as well as internships available. There are 3 exams per semester and are in increasing difficulty (mini - mid - end). We have practical labs for each subject that hold a lot of value. Recently the college is undergoing a chain of reforms such as Drawing subjects have shifted from paper to CAD, They semester feels fast and heavy after the mini exams and there is no going back to it till the end exams.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunites start from the very beginning if you are skilled, or normally from the third year onwards. The companies that offered internships include Goldman Sachs, Nutanix, Microsoft, Amazon, Meesho, Flipkart and ServiceNow. The stipend went as high as 90000 per month to a few candidates. They also got converted to PPOs and students got packages upto 42 LPA last year. Typically we are given opportunities during the semester breaks between the academic years.
Placement Experience :
Placement is only the golden highlight of the college that convinces people to ignore it downs and get admissions. As per the TPO report of 23-24, we had the highest package 64 LPA (which was 84 LPA for the last year) and the median stood at 20 LPA. 120+ companies visited the college for the placements. 238+ offers were made. Companies include top MNCs like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Flipkart, Oracle, Samsung, Practo, Nvidia, Cisco and others. Google offered 38 LPA jobs to 5-6 people, Microsoft at 50 LPA to 5 people and so on. A decent placement ratio is maintained.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fess here is almost constant and after the one time fees (Total 8,600) at the time of admission the charges reduce. The semester tution fees for a general candidate is 65,500 and the hostel charges along with maintainance and occupancy charge is 15,500 per semester. The complete cost of B.Tech here will be around 8-9 Lakhs for a general candidate. We have no tution fees for SC/ST and PWD candidates. We have various scholarship schemes available here at MANIT that can be viewed from the online portals. There are special scholarship policies for girls. We have campus employments for the PG or Final Year students as lab assistants or teaching assistants and they are paid on daily basis.
Campus Life :
MANIT is a very lively and famous college for the societies and the fests. We have many societies that cater to different domains only to name a few as E-Cell (Entrepernurship Society), Roobaroo (Cultural Society), Vision & ISTE (Technical Societies) that have at least 3 functions each a year. The biggest fests (probably north india's largest fests) are the Maffick, TechnoSearch, and E-summit along with others such as Tooryanaad. We have a good central library, open to all that keeps on updating and we get all the suggested books from there itself. The classrooms are non AC but they CSE labs are AC labs. All classrooms are euipped with projectors and multiple boards along with proper audio and mic systems to enhance teaching experience. For sports we have a sports centre (all equipments and coaches) and a gym also, along with that we have playing grounds in most hostels attached itself. The clubs are fun and have a company like working atmosphere.
Hostel Facilities :
The rooms here at are big enough but they were designed to accomodate 2 people. hence we have two cupboards (in-wall) two stone carved tables attached in-wall. but we have 3 beds, 3 chairs & a few wall spaces to keep objects. Now we also have LAN port services along with the wifi. It is comfortable to live. The mess is a student co-operative mess that allows students to decide the menu, we get food 4 times a day and a good variety of items. The food taste is good mostly. We also have company outlets like nescafe & amul that are quite good. The mess charges are fixed at 25000 per year. The occupancy rate of the triple sharing rooms (first year) is 5000 and for double it is 7500, single rooms cost 10000 per semester. we have fixed water and electricity charges of 10500 per semester. From the second year onwards we are allotted hostels (triple or dual) based on merit. Overall there are good and affordable when compared to other colleges.
Admission :
MANIT takes admissions through JEE Mains Exam (along with 75% + in 12th Boards), and though JOSAA / CSAB councelling. A general male candidate needs an AIR of 10000 to the CSE branch in the college. We have reservations for home state Madhya Pradesh (50%) and the rest for other state people. we have reservation benefits for st/sc/obc/ews and pwd candidates. One has to work really hard to qualify the JEE exams and get admission in this prestigious college. We have admission process and alloment of hostels done at the main LRC (learning resource centre) building that is huge and has all counters at one place, making the process fast and efficient.
Faculty :
The faculties at MANIT are really efficient, by the standard of the academics maintained here it justifies the college's placements. The faculty to student ratio of the college assigned as per the MHRD is 1:12, In the first year, we almost had 4 teachers available per subjects and others who especially set the exam papers. Every faculty holds a strong academic background for their particular subjects. We may have different lab and theory teachers but they work in coordination. Many teachers have adpoted modern teaching methods also along the traditional ones. They will share resources other than class room stuff to make your task easier. All the teachers in each session ask students to put uo thier doubts about the session. They share assignments and also are ready to help overall, leaving a few of them, most of them were friendly.
