Dislikes

  • The thing that I dislike the most is the administrative process. Process like registration, application, ommision/addition of subjects are a headache. It might take months for the simplest of task to be completed .
  • Another issue is the class size there is 1 teacher for a class of 50 plus students which I think is a major concern

Course Curriculum Overview :

I was really interested in English as a subject ever since I was a child and when I was in 11th I decided to pursue the language in depth. I think the course is really good it gives you insight in literature from different partsof the world . It is the best course if your objective is to build a strong base in english for further studies. The curriculum is relevant with the present market. It prepares us for the the different career paths. The frequency of exams is pretty good and gives us enough time to learn different thing along with aur core subjects. I would personally rate the difficulty level of exams 7/10.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The first year fee for my course English honours was ?14560 which I think is really affordable with regards to the current educational course prices Along with the course fees there is also an expense of ?2000 monthly on transportation. The college provides several scholarships and fee concession to the students with financial needs . Fee concession can range from 500 to 3000 . Scholarship such as HANA scholarship is provided to the deserving students Campus employment rate of the college is average, some students have bagged high packages but mostly it is medicore packages.

Campus Life :

Every department and sociaty has their different fests . The official college fest is TIDE which is organised by the student union. The social life in the college is pretty decent About sports I am on the football team of our college and to be involved in any extracurricular activity is always fun . We represented aur college in inter DU tournament and reliance football tournament along with that we also played many different small sided tournament. The training facilities and benefits are average . Overall my social life experience in the college has been good

Admission :

Students from any stream can opt for BA english honours. The admission process is through CUET , students can opt for any 4 subjects from their streams including English which is mandatory . The subjects I chose were Business studies, economics, fine arts and English I scored 718/800 and I belong to general class so there were no reservation benefits for me For south campus in DU around 700 is a safe score if you belong to general class , for north campus 750+ After the cuet result you have to fill the DU CSAS portal which will allocate you the college. You also have to make a preference list for you ideal college and course combination . Personally I think the admission process was pretty smooth. I didn't face any technical issue.

Faculty :

Even though the faculty to student ratio is not ideal the teachers do their best to keep the classes interactive and approachable for the students. The teaching method and the effectiveness of them is the major pro for me in this college. All the faculty members are highly educated some of them are even authors and translators. Personally for me my interaction with the teachers is not that high but from the teachers side their is no incompetancy .

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course was good for me as I'm preparing for the upsc civil service examination so political science helped me a lot in my optional subject. Through my curriculum I got to know many theories and approaches that we can see in our daily lives and as I just said I want to go into bureaucracy so it is helpful for me. There is no improvement needed as such because my professors were actually so good. We used to have monthly tests for our internal and semester examinations which were on average neither easy nor difficult.

Placement Experience:

From last semester students become eligible for campus placements. There is below average placement in this college. Students almost opt for higher studies. But still there are many companies which visits but they offered on an average 3 lakh per annum package. Only 20% students got placement and rest of them opted for higher studies. My plan was clear at that time to go for research in economics

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have been a lover of English as long as I can imagine. Being in Miranda only brings me closer to my beloved, as each one of my professors only seem to strengthen my affection of the language and for the literature it offers. It teaches you in abundance about how the world used to work and how it works today. One who studies english shall never ever fail to navigate their way through life. Considering the examination, if you have it in you to look at things beyond their exterior, you'll ace this subject. Though, I must state that being a subject course, it takes a little more than "one to two days before exam studies" to score a CGPA higher than 8.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As we can see , teaching method depends on old teaching that is reading and writing, professor comes and read the paragraph of the book and meanwhile students are noted it down...while some teachers prefers to practical learning other than this. The course that is selected by the students having career itself but we have to take notice that it's matter of opportunity gives to them.

See In our Admissions process We get to See many changes in the Admissions process and then the Education process like implement of New Education Policy 2020 which makes us deal with so many subject which are 7 in number and but talking about my college the teaching methods of the faculty members mainly based on the orally explaining the things or teaching through visuals like PPT which some How help us to understand the in a good and proper way. Talking about Curriculum through NEP2020 it give exposure to learn the different different subject according to our wishes and it also help ua that we are not only engage with one subject we are learning many thing from one places so I am happy with Curriculum and faculty members of my college.

Placement Experience:

Third-year students are eligible for campus placement opportunities. Some of the companies that came to our college are PlanetSpark, RSVI, IDFC First Bank, FNP, Zoconut, etc. The highest package offered for our course is around 10LPA and the average package is 4-5LPA for positions like a translator, editor, content manager/creator, etc. However, the placement percentage of our college/course isn't that high. The average percentage of placement in our college is approx. 40%. My plan after completing the degree is to have a job alongside my Masters.
