Good in terms of literal education but not the best one for good placements.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course, i.e., English Honours because of my interest in literature and languages as well. And when I took admitted, I heard good reviews of this particular college for English Honours. We have a good faculty and a decent number of departmental teachers as well. They possess good knowledge and are well-qualified. Some of the teachers have this example teaching method which is personally my favourite. We have monthly tests and semester-wise exams held twice a year.

Internships Opportunities :

Personally, I started my internship journey through my college's internship and placement cell called PRAYAS through which I got an internship in an NGO called RSVI. I had an amazing experience there where I started off as a voice artist and ended up being the department head and from there onwards, I landed some great internship opportunities through the same.

Placement Experience :

Third-year students are eligible for campus placement opportunities. Some of the companies that came to our college are PlanetSpark, RSVI, IDFC First Bank, FNP, Zoconut, etc. The highest package offered for our course is around 10LPA and the average package is 4-5LPA for positions like a translator, editor, content manager/creator, etc. However, the placement percentage of our college/course isn't that high. The average percentage of placement in our college is approx. 40%. My plan after completing the degree is to have a job alongside my Masters.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Compared to other DU colleges, my college's fees are a little on the expensive side but its education quality is good. There is no fee hike as of yet (in my notice). Apart from this, the college also provides a fee concession scheme every semester for everyone who needs it by simply interviewing them along with their documents. However, the placement percentage is not that high in our course so I haven't got any job as of yet.

Campus Life :

Our annual fest in college is SAARANG which happens in the month of February and tech fest, Reboot 2.0 which happens in March are a great series of events. As for the library, we have a good amount of books of different and almost all genres with good wi-fi connectivity as well. Classrooms are well equipped but labs are better in comparison. We do have various sports (cricket, shooting, badminton, etc.) and even sports quota in college. Recently, my own department (English Department) opened a literary society called INKSTINKTS in the college which is fully managed by us students and is for the students.

Admission :

All the details regarding the admission process are available on Google and on Delhi University's website and one can easily find out all the relevant details from there as minimum eligibility criteria, and admission process (start date, end date, etc.) DU does provide a reservation quota and our college specifically provides Sikh Minority Quota. I don't feel there is any change required except the site crashing thing that happens if there is a little more than expected traffic on the website which makes things difficult for students.

Other Applied Colleges

Sri Aurobindo College | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (English)

My college is a bit better than this one.

Placement Experience:

Sri Venkateswara College provides placements for Science and Commerce Students, not for BA Students. The college has a good record in the placement cell. I am an Arts student so I don't have any placement. So I choose UPSC as my career option. I will try until I succeed.

Placement cells do not provide placements to English graduates. Only a few companies came to hire English graduates. I'm planning to do a master's or B.Ed to secure a career in teaching after my graduation.

6th-semester students are eligible to apply for campus placements. Companies like Bains and Co., KPMG, etc visit our college. Some are known and some unknown. I did not participate in campus placements as I decided to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

The college is good and faculty teacher is very helpful and the canteen is great. The playground is very big and clean. College has many societies. Admission process is merit based and first cum basis.

Admission:

No, because my admission merit based and my performance and sc quota so I can't face any group discussion, interview, or written tests. My result calculation is sufficient to get admission.

Remarks:

The college is excellent when it comes to academic excellence though it lacks a bit in infrastructure and placements.

Admission:

After giving my 12th class board exams I was looking at potential places to do my graduation from and Delhi University and Jamia millia islamia were on the top of my list due to their reputation and excellent national rankings. I ended up choosing jamia because it had the reputation for being very academics oriented and having a sincere student body. The fact that jamia has an entrance exam was also a draw for me as it ensured my peers were selected on the basis of stiff competition ensuring I got the best environment to pursue my academics.Jamia conducts its entrance exam around june-july with admissions taking place in august. The admission process is pretty straightforward and most of the process such as registration and payment of fees is online. The final registration is done in person in the university itself. Original documents such as 10th and 12th marksheets are required as well as character certificate and school leaving certificate. The list of required documents is available on the university website.

Our college has JEET placement Cell. JEET provides weekly updates on new internships. There are too many opportunities. However my course, Psychology doesn't have placement opportunities as such as Psychology is a complex field that has yet to be Specified in Masters.
