Remarks :
Everything in my college is good. There is nothing called bad here. Studies is tension free. We get lot of time to prepare and exams are straight from what is taught in class.
Entrance Preview :
I opted this college because it's located in my Hometown Mangalore and is also the top college of Karnataka and Top 3 among NIT's. My parents always had the desire of me studying in NITK and they are happy now. Also, there is 100% campus selection here and also there is a lot of job opportunities and internship. The course curriculum is simple and effective.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is good and is clearly placed so that it's only upto a limit which we can understand. There is nothing beyond our limit of understanding which is taught. Everything taught is indeed helpful in our everyday life and also helpful in our future studies.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, my college provides Internship opportunities based on our CGPA and our overall performance. As I am new to the college, I have no such idea about the experience of Internship.
Placement Experience :
I have heard that Placements and Job Opportunities are really good. We can say that there is 100% placement in our college, as NIT is one of the prestigious colleges in India. Companies from all over the world come here for placement and Students here get a hefty salary.
College Events :
Several events are celebrated in our College. All national festivals are celebrated in a very grand manner. There is no discrimination against any religion. Students involved in large numbers for all the events here. "ENGINEER" is the annual Tech Fest of our college and is India's 2nd largest tech fest. Students from various colleges all over India participate in this fest. "INCIDENT" is the Annual Cultural Fest of our college and is India's Largest Fest. Students and locals from all over India participate in this fest and make it a grand success every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
As this is a NIT, the fee structure compared to other college is slightly high, but is affordable. For students whose Parents Annual income is less, they get a concession in the fee amount. Overall, the fee structure is feasible and not very expensive.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes. Scholarship is offered for those students whose Parents annual income is below Everything mark. Loan facility is available for all students with the tie-up of 2 banks within the College premises.
Campus Life :
Campus Life is really wonderful. With a 395 acre campus, there is everything within the college, including a Private Beach only for the Students of our college. The gender ratio is almost equal as this Is a central government college and the government has provided equal opportunities for both boys and girls. All the students are friendly with each other and help all of them. The college encourages us to participate in various events such as Sports, Tech events, Cultural events and many more. Our Tech Fest "ENGINEER" and cultural fest "INCIDENT" is one of India's Largest Fests. We also participate in Robotics event E-Yantra, conducted by IIT Bombay.
Hostel Facilities :
As this college was founded in late 1960's as Karnataka Regional Engineering College, the hostels are not that great and are very old. The college is now building new hostels and also renovating the old ones in order to provide the best society for the students. The mess food is undoubtedly very good with different varieties of food on different days, veg and Everything veg.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes. Alumni here have established a Career Development Centre worth RS.25 Lakhs. It's indeed a good initiative by them. Many Seniors here encourage us to participate in events. There is no RAGGING here, which is the best part. Alumni of my college has founded several companies of their own in India and all over the world.
Exam Structure :
Exam Structure here is very simple. Each semester has 2 Quiz, 1 Mid-semester exam, and 1 end Semester exam. Other than exams, we also get assignments for practice. The quiz is like an Internal exam of about 10 to 15 marks. The mid-semester is conducted at the middle of each semester for 50 marks, while end Semester is conducted for 100 marks at the end of each semester. Overall, the exam Structure is fine and tension free.
Admission :
Admission in this college is through JEE MAIN Entrance Exam. I got admission here based on my Rank in the exam. Based on our rank, we are allotted college and a particular course. After getting a seat, there will be a session of document verification and after that will be the admission. Admission process is completely online and is very simple.
Faculty :
The faculty of my college is really good. All of them Holds a Doctorate degree and are professionals. They explain everything in detail and makes sure that we have understood everything. They are kind and are not harsh at all. They have the Patience to teach the same thing several times.
