MCA at Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management(BVICAM), Delhi

Dislikes

  • MIn 75% attendance is required and you have to be on time in classes.
  • The college is strict in terms of discipline. You have to pay fine if you do anything wrong.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum contains practicals, which is the best part. The course is about coding and technology so practical part becomes a must. The faculty not only focuses on theory but practicals too. You will have to do projects in each semester which makes you industry ready. There are majorly two exams apart from class tests- Internal and external(theory paper and practical both).

Placement Experience :

Placements are decent here. Last year we had 100% placement and 90% this year because of recession. The average package is 550000. Some of the comapanies that visited our campus were- TCS, Incedo, IVP, Yamaha, WCT and many others.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tution fee for the first year was Rs.178000/- and for the second year it was 160000. In the first year apart from fess you have to pay for college dress, books, development fess and computer society fees which totals up to Rs.8000/-.

Campus Life :

The infrastructure of the camous is really good. Our campus have diffrent cultural fests around the year- IEEE, NSC, various hackathons are also organised. Books are easily available in the library. Apart from libarary we also get our subject books from the college only. All the classes are equipped with white boards and projectors. You can join various socities namely- photography, computer science, drama, dance, music etc.

Admission :

To enter the course first you have to give a national level exam NIMCET which happens every year. Based on your rank you will get admission into the course. There were students in my class with rank around 6000 so, its not that hard to get admission if you perform decentlyin NIMCET. This college comes under IPU, so you have to apply to ipu.ac.in.

Faculty :

The faculty members are all PHD teachers and well qualified. You will also be assigned a teacher a a mentor who will guide you through projects. Around 20-25 students are under a single mentor and you also get the option to choose your mentor. Teachers teach through presentations and give you the same for further reading.

Remarks:

The college is good if you are looking for good study and placement. It also celebrates each and every event on a bigger scale. But if you are looking to be a part of cultural activities, you should avoid it as it doesn't have much cultural stuff.

Admission:

I got admission through entrance test. We did little preparation for this exam ,make sure whatever you prepare remember those things..It will be helpful for your interview also. One thing I really like, interview panel will ask you which is your favorite subject then they will ask from there.

After both rounds i was 2nd in wait list in general category. Delhi University if most prestigious for MCA. Even MCA degree itself introduced by Delhi University in India in 1985. After IIT Roorkee, Delhi University MCA was my 2nd choice for MCA.

I think for the most part BCIIT is a great collage. Most of the professors are very helpful and will go out of their way to help a student. The one thing I have to complain about is the way our money is spent. The school could spend more money on the students to give us better activities, better facilities in the classrooms.
