Entrance Preview :

I appeared for Entrance Test for Delhi University MCA conducted by Department of Computer Science. Then i got call for Personal Interview.Out of 30 seats, 21 are general category seats. After both rounds i was 2nd in wait list in general category. Delhi University if most prestigious for MCA. Even MCA degree itself introduced by Delhi University in India in 1985. After IIT Roorkee, Delhi University MCA was my 2nd choice for MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview :

it was toughest course i ever attended or heard of someone. Every mark earned there in 3 years is hard earned. A lot to learn. professors there set very high bench mark for students. Industry level assignments are done in the course curriculum. Professors don't allow to cheat or copy internet available assignments.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, most of the students get internship cum placements offers in hand in 5th semester itself. If any students could not make it, Department provide internship to him under guidance of any faculty.

Placement Experience :

Each students easily can have 2-3 offers within big IT giants. Aricent, Nagarro are bulk hiring companies. Lots of our alumni make it to Adobe, Microsoft, Amazon etc. Most of the students here are now working with Big name in IT industry. So we can say it once you got admission here, You got your future settle.

College Events :

DU MCA host their technical fest event SANKALAN every year. Beside that Fresher's party, Senior's Placement party, Farewells are big occasions there. Though every Saturday alumni used to gather and take junior out for treat.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees is almost nothing. 7000-8000 rs per semester. Even that can be discounted if any student can not afford it. DU MCA students can easily have tuition outside if they want to pay this by there own. Though it is nothing compared to private colleges.

Hostel Facilities :

DU MCA students got accomodations in Delhi University Hostels itself. 6-7 hostels are there. Each hostel have 1-2 seats for department of mathematical sciences.

External Expense : Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Exam Structure :

Each semester have 5-6 subjects. Each subject have 100 marks. Out of this major semester exam hold 60 marks, while 20 marks are of internal exams. 20 marks are based on assignments. Total marks are 3000 in all 6 semesters. last semester of industrial training hold 500 marks.

Faculty :

50% faculty is guest faculty and rest 50% is department's professors. Guest faculty is very well knowledged and create lot of interests in subjects. While department's faculty set high target for students. They assign very difficult assignments to students within every semester. Except 1-2, every professor is knowledgeable and put great efforts.

JNU for Overall development

Placement Experience:

Placements are average. Only 50% of students are placed yet. In the third semester, companies start visiting campus. Some of the companies are OPTUM, CIENA, XCALIBERATE, and KNOLDUS. The highest package is 14.5 LPA by Optum and the average is around 6-7 LPA. One can choose Ph.D. as an option if one didn't get placed.

Good Things: + Good Faculty + Good Labs + Good Placement Bad Things: - Uniform 4 days out of 6 - Saturday College is open - Tough Exams - So many assignments Overall, college will make you cry for 3 years if you are coming from DU or some other university, but definitely that is good for you/your future and you will get good placement/job.
