Place for learning and growth

Dislikes

  • The Placement opportunities for the core Branches like mechanical, Civil and Electrical is very limited.
  • Training and placement cell doesn't have well organized plan for the placement of their students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I had opted for Electrical Engineering, the motivation to choose the course was its effective use in daily life and how it is implemented to ease out the day to day challenges. Electrical Engineering has helped me understand the practical application of Engineering from the Generation of Electricity to it's transmission and distribution among consumers. Different workshops among students have been organized from time to time to learn the practical aspects of Engineering. However, the labs need to upgrade their instruments and equipment with latest standards to meet the company standards. The exams are conducted properly in the schedule along with well-organized planning. One exam is conducted mid semester called as minors wheres the end semester exams are called Majors.

Placement Experience :

The students typically gets eligible for on campus placement from 7th semester. However one can try for off campus placement from 6th semester onwards. There are various companies like India glycol limited, Jaro Technologies, century metal recycling and many others visit college for placements. The highest package in college was around 40 lakh rupees, whereas the average package is around 6 lakh rupees. Around 60% of students gets placed on campus.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tuition fee is around 96000 per year including the hostel accommodation. It is less likely to increase frequently and hence, people might see increase around 5000 rupees in 5 Years approximately. The other cost that can added is mess charges which is around 12000/- per semester. The complete cost of Doing B.tech will be around 5 lakh rupees. There are various scholarship which are provided to the students through Malaviya Alumini Association which is run through the esteemed network of Malviyans.

Campus Life :

There are many clubs and society based upon your preference for your extra-curricular Activities. If you are tech- savvy, there is robotics club for you. If you are good in arts, singing or dancing there exists a cultural society for you. A technical fest named tech Srijan is organized Annually which is the center of joys and excitement among the students. This fest is organized for 3 days on an average. The library has different sections and room, with AC and non-AC facilities. This library is well equipped with monthly magazines of National and international importance, different books related to course can be issued. The classroom has digital boards and proper audio video channels for smooth conduction of classes, making sure everyone can listen to the lectures delivered. College has its own stadium where various sports Activities are organized from time to time, and boys play cricket matches among themselves in evening.

Hostel Facilities :

There are different hostels to give accommodation to students, based upon the seniority level, type of room is alloted to students. 1st year students usually gets 4 seater or 3 seater room, while 2nd year students gets 3 seater room. Likewise, Final year students get a single room. Hostels have well equipped high speed wifi facility, Clean Purified water. The rooms have a bed and study table along with chair for the students. There will an Almirah to place your personal belongings. The registration formalities for hostel allotment will be done along with the admission process if you are willing to take hostel.

Admission :

One must Give Malviyan Entrance test (MET) to take admission in college, the cutoff can vary according to difficulty and number of students taking up the examination. The other way to take admission is through JEE mains. Eligibility for the course is Science stream in intermediate. The admission typically starts from the month of April and the classes start from July onwards.

Faculty :

The number of students in college is high as compared to other three tier college, therefore the the Faculty to student ratio is approximately around 1 : 30. Though it has nothing to do with learning and transfer or Knowledge, the class is spacious and well equipped with Audio Video system, so learning is easy and fun. All the faculty members are selected through a proper channel with proper interview and discussion, hence the faculty have good understanding of their subject and good command over the concepts which makes it easier for the students to understand. The interaction with teachers is quite easy and on the go, the faculty have supportive attitude towards students and hence makes them easily approachable.

More specifically if I am talking about placement is that if you want to get good placements in dei that you must maintain your sgpa at least 8 points for you to appear in the placement cell. There are many companies visited in college like torrent power for electrical branch and other for their respective branches. Around 60% of students get their placements through college and it also depends on students' ability and skills. Since I am in the 4th semester so yes from 3rd year students get their training or internship through college to students with good grades. So you must have to maintain at least 8 sgpa for better placements.

Placements are good in GCET, Although they vary from time to time. For placements, students are eligible from the 7th Sem. Companies like Direct-I, Samsung, Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, etc. all visited the campus. The highest package I now am 21LPA buy it can be more. And except recession 60-70%, people are placed. Rest it all depends on students as well.
