- The main thing I like is that the college sir and teachers are very friendly. Along with their academic classes, they do many non-academic activities that are essential for students.
- Our workshop which is mechanical, we have many machines which may not be in diploma level in many colleges. We have done a lot of industrial work and know how to operate machines.
Dislikes
- It was found that having many students in a branch meant that those who had no interest could not learn anything. has fallen behind.
- And sometimes many classes are off for non-academic activities
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose the branch as you know mechanical engineering is a mother branch of engineering. And I choose this college because it was the top polytechnic college in West Bengal. And I was very interested in how machine learning, how the machine works. And they teach how a machine actually runs in industry. What I can suggest is that there are some areas that need improvement, For example, some machines in our workshop are broken, so it is better to fix them. And the diploma level exam is not that tough, a little better if the academic exam means to complete the syllabus then you can pass with good marks. But we have the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, many times they have been seen to have done the exam first after Corona, like we have an exam with a gap of three months in our time, so there were some difficulties at that time
Internships Opportunities :
All the paid internships we did in college. Our college offers jobs after passing out or in second year. We have done also two three of projects. In every year we have to do some project. One of I did last year furnace where we can melt various types of metals mainly my still aluminium so and then casting some new items. I did it because I see there is many scraps material mainly in our workshop for the operation of some metal like and milling and lathe machine so I did its job because I want to reuse the metals.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fees of diploma in mechanical engineering is 1,35000/- Addmission 15000/- 1st Semester 20000/- 2nd Semester 20000/- 3rd Semester 20000/- 4th Semester 20000/- 5th Semester 20000/- 6th semester 20000/- But if you take the admission through the JELET exam, then your fees may be less. Although you can take direct admission. Also there's many scholarships available like Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, OASIS etc. The campus ambience is very beautiful.
Campus Life :
Many technical and non-technical festivals are held here. JIS- Polycon: where you submit your project idea and give a seminar. JIS- Polyprod: where you submit your completed project or model. Annual sports and many more. In our library you will access all the books for reading or carrying in the home. Classrooms are normal like blackboard and pencil. Not a smart classroom.
Admission :
You need to passout your 10th examination with a good percentage. Your course duration is 3 years. Also you can take addmission after 12th with Science. Then the course duration is 2 years. This is called voclet addmission. You can get addmission through official website of JIS School Of Polytechnic. Or an entrance exam called JELET in west bengal. There are two semester in a year. You can easily get good marks with the basic knowledge of your syllabus.
Faculty :
Our mechanical faculty were very educated and the walk-in faculty worked at industry level and then taught us.This shows how good workshop facilities we have got.But in terms of theory subject our faculty was a little less because of that there were some problems but those who were there were very competent and would have solved any problem.The faculty we had were very friendly with us and we had no problem asking questions.
