My College Review

Dislikes

  • Placement rate is low in our college and it does not provide any internship opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is moderate and contains the detailed and important subjects that are required for civil engineering. Overall, it is fine and enough, but there is room for more hands-on practicals than theory in our department.

Placement Experience :

From final year, the companies start visiting our campus for placements, Very few companies arrives and with an average package of 2 Lakhs per annum in our college. The placement rate is overall very low and there is a room for improvement in this.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees are quite affordable and reasonable as per the course of civil engineering. I have taken the Jexpo exam for entrance and due to this, my fees were reduced. There is also scholarship available like Swami Vivekananda Scholarship.

Campus Life :

The campus is very beautiful and mesmerizing. On every occasion, we organize events and functions. Sports tournaments are also organized each year for the students. There is no club for students to join in.

Admission :

I was admitted to the Durgapur Institute of Polytechnic through the jexpo exam. Based on the percentage, my fees were overall reduced. The admission process was quite easy and it didn't cause me any kind of issues regarding documents and all.

Faculty :

Faculty members are very polite and helpful to us students. Number of faculty members are enough to manage our department of civil engineering. They are well knowledgeable and provide us with doubt support.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Diploma in Computer science and engineering. From a small agr as I always wanted to study Engineering so it encouraged me to choose this course. At first I wanted to study B.Tech in CSE but class 12 percentage wasn't enough for it so I decided to study Diploma in CSE and after that later I'll study B.Tech. Diploma is also a very good course to study on, it is the pathway to study B. Tech later. The course includes the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Computer and Mechanics as well as Basic Electrical and Electronics engineering subjects which prepares for our day to day world if we study then properly. In each semester we have 3 internal exams and lab exams for each subject and at the end we have the End Semester Exam(ESA). The Internal exams are quite easy and everyone scores good in that exam but the ESA is quite tough and students have a hard time scoring good in the subjects in ESA. But if we study hard then we can easily score good in the ESA also.

Placement Experience:

Placements are below average. Since 3-4 companies only arrived at our college and average package was 2-3 lakhs per annum. I got placed in a startup company "Underscore Technology Private Limited", who was providing 16-18k per month for Front end developer role. But due to higher studies, I declined the offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was sure from the very starting of my preparation for jexpo that I would choose civil as my course. The curriculum was not that much difficult to understand. The theory part of this course is good but through my point of view practical should be more broad in this course. The frequency and the timing of the exam is good and it is in a moderate level

After 4th semester, companies will be coming to our campus for job opportunities, There will be 5 to 6 companies coming each year at least... They will take written tests also interviews before selection... The highest package after doing an internship for 1.5 years a student can get 12-13lpa. The company which offers this facility is called "Thoughtworks". 40-50% of students will be getting placements. Depending on their knowledge and quality. Though I plan to do BTec after this.
