Dislikes

  • The infrastructure is really small and the college is in small space leading to less space for social interaction and sports.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is PGDM which is an advanced form of MBA making it fast-paced and relevant to todays time. The course has lot of features regarding giving the right practical exposure to students. The student get numerous opportunites for professional and personal development through presentation, public speaking, live projects, internships and various competitions. Students learns the importance of time and deadlines. There is a lot of assignments and case related assignment to be completed which actually improves understanding concepts. The frequency of exam is 3 times per year which is a trimester based system and every trimester completes in just 3-4 months and the questions papers are majorly cased based helping students to use practical and case based examples. Their are lot of interactive session and meets with the corporate mentors. The only area of improvement can be more addition of corporate tours.

Internships Opportunities :

The internship opportunities are offered by Deloitte, Tommy Hilfiger, Ingenetus, KRG Strategy Consultants, Smashhh etc. and the roles offered are Us tax, Financial Modeling, Sales Intern etc. I worked as a financial modeling intern at KRG and worked on creating a financial model of a company to understand inbestment analysis

Placement Experience :

The students become eligible for placements from 4th trimester. The companies generally comes to campus are Deloitte, EY, Acuity knowledge Partners, ICICI Bank, Mother Dairy, Tata Play, HCL Tech, Tata Trents, Exide, Mazars, Gridlines, etc. The offers made are of average package of 6 LPA. The highest package offered is around 18 LPA. The students getting placed is definitely around 98%-100% and the placement departments always put in efforts to get all students placed.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees in my time was 7,95,000 in year 2022 and now increased to 9,25,000 in year 2024 showing increasing in fees hike regularly. Their is also a security deposit of 5000. Their is usually a scholarship of 50,000 through MAT exam and no other financial aid is provided as such. Their are numerous employment opportunites for students to get in placements with good roles in great companies such as Deloitte, EY, Asian Paints, Mother Dairy, Acquity etc.

Campus Life :

Their is a annual fest known as VERVE happening in the month of Feb every year. The clubs and others offers a lot of activities to students the entire year for their personal and orofession developments. The library is great having wide variety of books covering each concepys in a unique manner. The facilities available are there are smart boards and computer rooms for students to access. Their is very less sports games and meets as the infrasturcture is small with no ground for sports resulting in a big negative for JIMS Rohini.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facilty is good for boys as there is a single rooms for 2 with personal washroom. The food quality is overall fine with the students being decider of the menu. The registration is done through college and the hostel is costly as the cost is around 1,60,000 per year.

Admission :

Eligiblity is you should be a graduate with around more than 50% in your 10th, 12th and graduation. The application form is available of the college website with a fee of 1000 and generally application dates starts from November and are open till June. The cut off is around 60 %ile and entrance exams accepted are CAT, CMAT, MAT etc. After filling the form their is a GDPI scheduled for selection of candidates. The chance of clearing the GDPI is high as there are no strict measures taken resulting in the only drawback of admission process.

Faculty :

The faculty-relationship is very natural and supporting. The faculties are easily approachable and give enough time for discussions and mentorships. The faculties are highly qualified generally PHD holders and few faculties are visiting faculties who holds experience of 30-40 years teaching at Delhi university and this shows in their teaching methods. The methods of teaching are mostly practical and case based so that understading and clarity impoves of students and related videos and cases are shared for practice. The courses is compelted within stipulated time without the hurry of completing the course and running for it. Overall the faculties are great and students generally are happy in context of faculty.

Interview Experience :

The topics of GD and interview questions are general which we can find across internet. There are lot of question related to to resume and students need to prepare for it. The criteria for admission is clear GDPI and get offer letter from college. The preparation can be done through content searched through internet.

Placement Experience:

Final placements start in the month of November. Many MNCs, startups, foreign companies and companies from different sectors visits the campus for summer internships and final placements as well. Placement activities take place in 2 phases. Profiles offered by the companies are at par the positions offered to IIM and other B School graduates. Almost 100% of the students are placed every year. Highest placement goes up to 32 lakhs, the average is 22 lakhs and the median package is 20 lakhs. The figures are almost the same for all the specializations that DMS offers. There are enormous opportunities for students of each specialization. Overall placement scenario at DMS is good.

Remarks:

The institute has the one of the best library, where I can find the different books for their studies. But not all books that are issued form the institute is relevant to syllabus so I have to purchase the books. The institute has the online portal that make me comfort in my studies and I can also go for the last year question papers from the portal.
