LIFE AT RUAS - The Reality

Dislikes

  • While the campus is good and lovely, a bigger campus wouldn't hurt anyone 😅
  • In regard to my course. I would have expected more core related subjects

Course Curriculum Overview :

Yes. This is one point that I kind of disliked. I'm pursuing btech in aerospace but the course has very few subjects related to core aerospace. The subjects are generic to aeronautical and aerospace both. Would be better if we had more space oriented subjects

Placement Experience :

The college is certainly trying to get good placements for students. The highest package this year was from CS Dept of 52 LPA from AMD. Unfortunately for us aerospace students. The major giants in our industry like Boeing and Airbus don't hire freshers as often as others. So that's a negative. But overall it comes down to your skills and how you present yourself.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure for B.Tech in aerospace when I joined (2021) was 2.3 LPA but I'm sure they have increased it by now. Not exactly sure but it's probably around 2.7-2.8 now. I joined via DCET so the fee for me is around 1LPA. Ramaiah does offer scholarships to students. As per my knowledge it was 10k. We don't have any campus employment opportunities as of now.

Campus Life :

We have a lot of events , talks and competitions from various clubs. Every dept has one or two clubs of their own and we keep hosting regular events. That takes the boredom out of the classes. Our dept has a club called AERONYX. We haven't hosted any events yet but we are planning to soon. Talking about the library, it's very well maintained and has pretty much everything related to our courses. Every class has a projector and a computer to make it easy for presenting. We also host regular sport events

Admission :

Admission process was smooth and easy. You need to fill an admission form online and take an online entrance exam which is pretty easy. After that you can go ahead with the fee payment. Although having 2 campuses did confuse some of us at the start.

Faculty :

All the faculties teaching at RUAS (atleast for aerospace) are highly qualified and have good experience in teaching. While everyone has different teaching methods , some are better than the others. They use different approaches to interract with the entire class and make sure everyone is attentive before starting the lecture.
