Course Curriculum Overview :

I have chosen civil engineering as my btech course. The government engineering college Thrissur follows the curriculum and syllabus set forwarded by APJ Abdul kalam technical University also known as KTU. The curriculum involves different subjects and practical sessions including labs and workshops thus assuring each and every student a meaningful and practical carreer in real world.

Class Size : 67Course Fees : INR 9000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

I think internships are mainly offered through international organisations or clubs that have a branch in our college like IEEE, ICI, etc. there are several such branches and it helps really great for us to find internships.

Placement Experience :

Various placements are offered by our college in every courses of btech. Computer science and electronics and communication engineering are on the topic in the list placed graduates. Placements are also offered for civil engineering. But mainly students chooses for mtech or other higher options or government exams in this field

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The government engineering college Thrissur is a Government college. The tution fees are approximately around 1000 including exam registeration. The books are provided in the library. And Government hostels are available for some students only considering their family annual income and distance from home. Every scholarships are open to students for application. And the best paying amount scholarship can be finalized.

Campus Life :

In the aspect of campus life and experience GEC stands out. There is a very good night life and events conducted in our college. Clubs and organisations are there for every type of interests. Each student can choose their own fields and improve themselves by getting involved in various club activities.

Admission :

The admission to this course is done by centralised exam called keam entrance exam. And course selection and college selection are done after declaring the result of exam. Through Keam portal we can give options according to our priority for courses and College. For civil engineering cut off is around 10k. For other branches cutoffs are lower.

Faculty :

The most knowledgeable friendly teachers are always some top notch qualities the college is known for. Most of the teachers are experts in their own fields and very much involved in the role of professors by providing adequate and broad information and sessions for needed. They are very approachable and kind. Talk sessions and interactive sessions are also provided outside the classroom discussing other skills and techniques for placement and growth of a student .

NIT Cailcut-The Good,Bad and the Ugly

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for campus placements by the beginning of the 4th year.High paying companies are attracted by the placement cell which offer good packages to the students. The average packages for the circuital branch are pretty high. Each year about 200 companies are invited. The highest package for Electrical and Electronics has gone upto 38LPA with average package of about 14LPA in the graduation year 2024.About 128 students had registered out of which 120 students were placed.The minimum salary offered was 5LPA.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
