Course Curriculum Overview :

My branch is electrical engineering I think that the professors of my branch are really easilya approachable and understanding They not only teach us about the curriculum which is a little inclusive and theoretical but also clear are practical doubts There are continuous reforms that are being taken place as fas as curriculum is concerned and the faculties are set to give the best of the courses that prepare the students The courses here offered are interdisciplinary which are beneficial to the students to understand the overall mechanics of engineering

Class Size : 40Course Fees : INR 300000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

There are many internship opportunities on campus and off campus the placement cell is good But it can be better Almost 80% students get internship by the end of their third year which is a nice ratio to think about

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The policies are good if you are from the weaker section of society. We have waivers and scholarships. Students have benefited alot from these schemes. Some paid projects are also there which you can think of as stipend under many professors The courses are affordable but the courses offered in the summer term are not .

Campus Life :

The clubs here are very nice there is a diversity of clubs ranging from general to social to cultural to academic all are very well managed The sports facilities here are not that great but they are okay The selection process for various inter college tournaments is easier as compared to 1 generation iits

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel are new and are maintained the washrooms are also clean It's a double sharing room which you get for entire btech is u are a girl And for boys after 2 nd year you get your own single room The mess is average but the food prepared here is hygienic

Hostel Fee : INR 60000 per year

Admission :

The entrance for any iit is jee mains + advances These are the most difficult examinations for the undergraduates toh need a rank of approx 5k ( general boy ) to enter the college For girls it's starts about (6-8k)

Faculty :

Faculty to student raitio. 1:40 The faculties have indepth knowledge about the courses and can clear doubts other than what course demands You can approach them easily after class or can take one on one appointment also

IIT JAMMU - Good placements and environment well maintaine. Average social life and connectivity

Placement Experience:

Placements here are good. Average package is 18lpa in 2023 and highest is 53lpa. Cse and EE have very good placements and other departments are decent. Students also get internshipsfrom 3rd year. Faculty also provide opportunities

Review for GCET Jammu, The best engineering College in Jammu

Course Curriculum Overview:

The content of the course is very much relevant to the field of study. The course curriculum is strictly derived from the AICTE'S directions. The teaching method in the college is traditional using the board method. But from past some time, the smart boards have been provided in almost every department, but in some classrooms the smart boards are still missing. The exams are held after fixed time intervals. The dates for sessional exams are fixed by the heads of the department and their timing is 1.5 hours. The finals are held per b University rules and are of 3 hours duration.

There is dedicated Training And Placement department for placing the student by inviting the companies, 4 th year is for the T& P session for each student where he/she can get the placement. But college do not take any step for the internship on the 3rd year.

Nit sri is for studying but not college life

Placement Experience:

I'm still in college undergoing my third year, as per my seniors they're getting placed, the college has a blocking policy where candidates are blocked from attending placement offers after getting placement above 7.5 lpa and are reallowed to sit after a certain number of students get placed and are allowed to sit if they sit in atleast 1.5 times the current package. However this policy is irrelevant for companies which offer more than 25 lpa where anyone can sit
