Life in VIT

Dislikes

  • Too much crowd almost everyday the whole campus is full.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course provides a thorough explanation of the subject. About 70 percent of the subjects are of medium difficulty level while the rest will give you a hard time getting good grades. Overall it all depends on the amount of effort you put into them.

Internships Opportunities :

I don't have much knowledge regarding this topic as I will get an internship in the next year but mostly the companies are good that give you internships. You have to submit a project in your third semester and you will get 9 credits for it. (For those who don't know you have to complete 162 credits in 4 years to get a degree).

Placement Experience :

Student become eligible for sitting in the placement in 4th year. Companies like tsc, microsoft, google and other renowned companies come during the placement drive. As of pervious year the highest package was 1.4 cr bagged by two students. Vit guarantees 100% placement as they say and I don't want to comment on this as I have no knowledge regarding thus. Most likely after getting a placement I will work for 2 years and then pursue MBA degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Basically the fees is divided in two parts the academic fees which is further divided in five categories. Category are give to you after taking the rank you got in viteee into consideration. If you got a rank under 1000 you will also get a scholarship. And as category increases the fees also increases. The hostel fees is also divided in further parts Ac(1 bed, 2bed,3bed 4bed 6bed), Non ac(same as ac) depending which room you choose you will have to pay.

Campus Life :

Gravitas and riviera are the most famous fests in vit vellore. Fests occurs on a regular basis. All books are available in the library but not enough for all the students you will have to rent a book for open book exam from outside the campus if you don't hurry and take it atleast 25 days prior the the cat2. Basketball, cricket,cycling,etc.. you can play almost every sport in vit. There are many clubs and chapters in vit in will you can enroll and they are for free.

Hostel Facilities :

Same as the teachers some are good and nice while some are rude. Meal is below average according to me if you are non vegetarian you will like only the evening meals on the day they provide no-veg. You have to apply for the hostel after you got selected in vit and get the campus that you like. Affordability depends on you whether you want to take ac or non ac. The environment outside is not that good locals are not that good to you.

Admission :

You got to have some basic understanding of pcm if you want admission in main branches. You can get the form in the official website of vit, at my time the application fees was around 1000 to 1500 and currently I don't have much knowledge about this. I don't know the benefits for reserved. Vitee is conducted once a year in April or may. They can improve the rank system and can provide the student a transparent system.

Faculty :

Almost every teachers are good and they have good information in their respective field of subject. Some are lenient while some are not so easy to understand. Some will give you marks and attendance if you are failing by 2 3 marks or getting debarred while Some won't.

Other Applied Colleges

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Information Technology)

Because it is popular and provides better placement chances.

There were more than 100 companies opting to get people from our college. Infosys, CTS, TCS and many other companies and the campus drive takes place at almost for 2 to 3 months. There will be even heavy competition between companies who's gonna recruit first. There are options if you are not interested in placements too

Admission:

I got the Admission in this college based on 12th marks and Jee main. i got Jee main score of 130 and 12th marks of 95%. so based on this they will ready a common Merit list and publish the All India ranks. based on your AIR , you will be called for counseling. You have to go to the SASTRA campus, on your allotted counselling date and time and Book the Branch of your choice. This is the Admission process

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Course Curriculum is really good it's on par with Bits and Nit syllabus. It's well designed to both suit the students needs and also equip them well with the basic fundamental concepts which can further strengthen their core concepts knowledge . moreover , the syllabus is designed in such a way that it covers 85% of gate exam syllabus. so we can also appear for gate exam immediately after completing our course. The Exam structure is based on conceptual learning. one has to be well equipped with concepts in order to pass in the exams. We must not mug up at any point of time as SASTRA exams will test your concepts rather than ur memory capacity. It will have 3 Cia exams out of which the best 2 exam scores will be considered for internal assessment and then followed by final semester examination which consists of 100 marks out of which 50 will be considered for overall grading. This is the exam structure
