Honest review on amrita.

Dislikes

  • Main thing i disliked about the hostel was the food.
  • The food never really had any flavor, whenever we had anything it'd be very soggy and watery, the sambhar and chutney used to be very watery.

Course Curriculum Overview :

To be honest our curriculum is a bit hard but it's manageable, the syllabus becomes a bit hard when it's end semester exams as there'll be many portions to study but with the teacher's help it's fine.

Internships Opportunities :

The hutlabs provide internships from our college that's the only one i know currently and a group of 5 had gone to singapore as part of their internship for around 2 months and according to them it went very well.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are around 4 fee slabs, you get a fee slab according to your AEEE rank and it's your duty to maintain the cgpa because when the cgpa gets reduced the fee slab gets changed according to the cgpa, if you get an arrear it automatically goes to fee slab 4.

Campus Life :

The campus life is pretty fine the infrastructure and the lab facilities are pretty good, the amount of clubs are very few, people take initiative to start clubs but they fail to do the next step, the books for various courses are provided in the library.

Hostel Facilities :

We get a room where 4 people will be accomodated(from second year), for the first year you are given a room of 3 beds, the mess food is pretty average it's always very bland, we've tried informing / complaining the authorized people about it but not much have changed.

Admission :

As it was covid i didn't have to go write AEEE offline i had it online we had an online proctored exam, the exam went fine there were no disturbances, my rank was somwhere between 22,000-30,000 and i got fee slab 2

Faculty :

In my class there are about 77 students so it's very hard for the teachers to come and check up on everyone, but they do their best. Most of the teacher's approach is very professional they use professional tools to teach us. The interaction with the teachers is always fully committed.

Other Applied Colleges

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

When i researched about the placements, according to the data it said amrita has more compared to vit and at amrita i got EAC i could delve into both electronics and computer.

Actually placement cell is a bit week the company's is not that reputed and they offer monthly salary of 12k to 15k. Probably some startup companies. And many students choose that and work for 1 or 2 years to gain experience and then they apply for better opportunities.

From the 3rd year onwards we could attend placement interviews and many companies used to approach our college but mostly IT companies as I was in civil dept the construction companies were very less or NIL. In our batch, most of the students got placed and many offer letters but the only disadvantage was the offers were not from the core companies.
