My college life experience, as a 2nd year CSE student.

Dislikes

  • There is almost no campus, only 3 buildings.
  • Coding culture is not so good at college, you have to learn everything by your own.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is not perfect as per the requirement of the industry but it will definitely provide you an edge if you are preparing for the GATE exam. The frequency of exams are very high. Almost everytime of the year you will be busy with Continuous Assessment, Lab exams (PCA) and submission of assignments. I think they should focus more on making students learn about coding properly in college labs itself so they dont need to worry about it how to learn and all, and encourage them to build real world projects, help them in it, or provide them oppurtumities to write reasearch papers along with professors.

Placement Experience :

From 6th semester onwards students can apply for various companies oncampus. There is a placement cell, students can contact with them. Many service based companies visit the college and students gets placed if they are well prepared. Almost 90 percent students get placed at any company.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tution fees are not being increased frequently, recently in the new academic session of 2023-24 there will be a hike after 3 years most probably. The complete cost of 4 years would be nearly 4 laks as per my admission year, 2022. Student credit card facilities, Swami Vivekananda scholarship, and TWF facilities are available here.

Campus Life :

Techfest happens every year, cultural fest happens once in 4 years. You will get a library facility, you can borrow any book you want. The classrooms are big and airy with projectors and greenboards. There are many societies called forums, like visual arts, tech, literary, performing arts, drama club, etc. The sports forum is also very active, they conduct annual sports every year, for male students football and cricket and for female students, throwball competition is held.

Admission :

To take admission in this college you must have to secure a decent rant in WBJEE OR JEE MAINS examination. Without a rank card, you can't take admission. Though there are 5-6 seats available in each brunch to get through donation of extra 5-6 lakhs over the whole tution fees. Reservation benefits is not available, they consider your GMR (General Merit Rank only). If you secure a rank of 10K in WBJEE you will get this college in your first counselling itself, as per now for Computer Science Engineering. Other branches available are IT, ECE, EE. Rank almost 50k, you can get EE.

Faculty :

Most of the faculties are helpful, if you approach them properly for any guidence. In a class CSE department there are almost 70 students so, 1:70 would be the faculty student ratio on an average. You can interect with the faculties anytime in college hours if they are free and they try to help most of them, you can also call or messege if you have any emergency problem.

From 3rd year students are eligible for campus placement. Companies including Infosys, TCS, Wipro, etc. have visited here with an average of 6 lakhs per annum offered. The highest package was 31 lakh from Amazon. Almost everyone gets placement here but a very low package. I plan to get an off-campus placement after getting the degree.

Placement Experience:

We become eligible from the later part of the third year to sit for the placements as the companies arrive then. Mainly placements are dependent on service-based companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro e.t.c. who mass recruits a whole lot of students with standard 3.5 to 4 LPA packages. Product-based companies like Oracle, Amazon, and trilogy too visited the campus. Oracle recruited a few of the candidates, Amazon too but nobody could clear the trilogy's OA rounds. Oracle offered a package of 15lpa and Amazon around 22 LPA. But a lot of students applied off campus and the highest placement off campus was 72 LPA in Google. The placement percentage is nearly 100% which is mainly due to the fact of service-based companies. I too am interested in IT jobs so am preparing for the same.

Placement Experience:

Students from the 4th-year 7th semester onwards become eligible for all sorts of campus recruitments. Cognizant technology solutions are the principal recruiter. Other companies which used to come during this time include Infosys, Odesha technologies, itc infotech, and others. All these companies generally take many students from our campus. During our time around 88% of students got selected from our batch. Out of which many students got double job offers from cognizant and Infosys. Some got job offers in sonodyne, Vodafone, and other companies. The highest package was offered by cognizant which was about 6 lakhs per annum. An average package of 3.5 lakhs per annum was offered by Infosys followed by itc infotech which offered roughly 4 lakhs per annum. After getting the degree I will pursue Ms maybe or maybe I can opt for MBA too. Also, I can sit for ies exam. Let's see what happens.

Remarks:

talking about few things. the quality of teaching delivered, educational technology available, facility provided at campus, placement records, location of the college, living environment around college. none of these are suitable or habitable. I may surely not advise anyone to get admitted in this college.
