- Candidate should have passed 10+2) Examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application/ Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above.
- At least 30% marks in English and minimum 45% marks in the above three subjects taken together.

Course curriculum is all good but certain times the course time becomes a great deal to cope with. The multiple assignments become a huge headache when the deadline is kept too short. Also the internals and assignments clash too much.
Likes
- About 85-90% students get placed with an average placement package of 4-5 LPA and the highest package depends on the merit of a student. The mass recruiters are Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and Accenture.
- Some teachers are really helpful, and they try to give their best in both theory classes and labs, but remember, I used the word "some". The course, while comprehensive, may not fully prepare you for an industry role in IT.
Dislikes
- There are not many placements, and the package is very low. The teachers areThe top roles offered are not that impressive and, to be honest, off-campus, you will get better job
- I chose IT because I always wanted to study it. In order to improve the infrastructure and classes of the college, the seating arrangements can be improved. Very few big fests are conducted; to be honest, campus life is boring.

In your 1st year you all will have same subject irr respect of your department you will have physics, chemistry and math. But the syllabus is very old. It contains many things that are not important. But you have study it.

The curriculum is good.. In Computer Science Engineering coding is the main component.. In future their is a huge opportunity.. Thats why most of the students choose Computer Science Engineering. In this course it have some difficulty but not that much.

Our college is affiliated to MAKAUT, so the course curriculum is decided by MAKAUT. But honestly speaking the course curriculum gives so much pressure to students, you will forgot to eat while writing pages of assignments.

- Very Small Campus. No Playground for sports.

College should hire teachers that could prepare students for placement.Students have to use you tube for studying to get passing marks in semester exam eventhough they attend regular class.Syllabus is also outdated.

- Ragging Free Environment, friendly seniors. College emphasises on extra cirricular activitives too.
- Very good location, easy traspotation facility through bus, auto etc.

- There is almost no campus, only 3 buildings.
- Coding culture is not so good at college, you have to learn everything by your own.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is not perfect as per the requirement of the industry but it will definitely provide you an edge if you are preparing for the GATE exam. The frequency of exams are very high. Almost everytime of the year you will be busy with Continuous Assessment, Lab exams (PCA) and submission of assignments. I think they should focus more on making students learn about coding properly in college labs itself so they dont need to worry about it how to learn and all, and encourage them to build real world projects,help them in it, or provide them oppurtumities to write reasearch papers along with professors.

Course Curriculum Overview:
For each semester you will have a some subject related to your core course and some other which is like essential for development of skill. In first year every branch of engineering students have same course. Subject like physic ,math, chemistry come in first year. I myself see this syllabus as out dated.as many things in this syllabus is not important but it is there.

Should I take CSE at B.P. Poddar or go for CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology through the management quota?
Heritage would be far better for your career than B.P.Poddar, in terms of educational facilities and campus infrastructure. The environment is good and the members of the faculty are helpful and nice.
I have visited both of these colleges and am familiar with them. If you want to have a fantastic college experience, Heritage would prove to be the best choice for you.
It could be a bit pricey if you use Management Quota. However, HIT offers good placement for CSE. In the recent placement drive, the average CTC offered at the institute was 4 LPA and the highest was 16 LPA.
