- My college hosts a plethora of events—ranging from academic symposiums to cultural festivals and sports competitions. There's always something happening, catering to diverse interests and passions. These events enrich our college experience.
Dislikes
- I despise the facade of fake placement promises at my college. It's disheartening to see students misled by exaggerated job prospects, only to face disappointment later. It undermines trust and creates anxiety among graduates.
- The burden of unnecessary academic workload weighs heavily on my college experience. Endless assignments, irrelevant courses, and excessive exams drain our energy and hinder true learning.
- The deficiency in facilities at my college is glaring and frustrating. From outdated laboratories to inadequate library resources and cramped study spaces, the lack of amenities hampers our learning experience.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is generally relevant but marred by unnecessary subjects, impacting its comprehensiveness. While certain aspects like practical projects influenced my choice, redundant subjects hinder its effectiveness. The curriculum adequately prepares for real-world applications but could streamline to focus on essential skills. Improvements in teaching methods could enhance engagement. Exams, though frequent, often test memorization rather than understanding.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities at our college are quite limited, with only a handful of options available. However, there's a slight advantage for women in securing these opportunities. Unfortunately, the details of the companies, roles offered, stipends, and project outcomes are kept hidden by the college.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements after the 6th semester. Companies like Google, PayPal, and De Shaw visited our campus this year, offering 5600+ job opportunities. The highest package offered was 50 LPA, while the average package stood at 5 LPA. The college doesn't disclose the percentage of students placed. After completing my degree, I plan to secure a job and work diligently in my chosen field.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fees increase by 5% annually. The total cost of my BTech education amounts to approximately 16 lakhs, encompassing tuition, service fees, and other compulsory charges. Scholarships are available for various groups, including army brats, single parents, and school scholars. Specific names and amounts vary based on eligibility and criteria set by the institution. Campus employment opportunities include roles like campus ambassador, offering stipends of around 19k annually. These roles often involve responsibilities such as promoting campus activities and events.
Campus Life
Campus life at my college is vibrant and engaging, with our major annual fest, GraFest, held in May, bringing the campus alive with music, art, and cultural performances. While the library offers a wide range of books and journals, accessible to students for academic pursuits, classrooms lack proper facilities. Nonetheless, sports, extracurricular activities, and student-run social groups enrich our college experience, fostering community and personal growth.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are really bad, like something from a nightmare. The food is terrible, with hardly any options. It's not too expensive to stay there, but signing up is easy. The area around the hostel is pretty rough, with lots of parties and questionable people.
Admission
For BTech in Computer Science, eligibility requires a minimum of 65% in Class 12. Application forms are available online, with specified application fees and deadlines. Reservation benefits vary as per government regulations. No entrance exam is required. However, the admission process could be improved by providing clearer communication about eligibility criteria and simplifying the application process.
Faculty
At my college, the faculty-to-student ratio is relatively balanced, allowing for personalized attention and meaningful interactions. This intimate setting fosters a conducive environment for learning and mentorship. Our faculty members boast impressive credentials, with many holding advanced degrees and extensive industry experience. Their expertise not only enriches classroom discussions but also provides invaluable insights into real-world applications of the subjects we study. They approach teaching with dedication and enthusiasm, often employing innovative methods One of the strengths of our faculty is their approachability. They are accessible outside of class, whether through office hours, email, or virtual platforms. This accessibility fosters open communication and encourages students to seek guidance and support when needed.
