My college my POV

Dislikes

  • I didn't like the hostel and it's mess because the food quality is not good
  • I didn't like the mess quality as it's poor

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is really good . As I have opted for chemical engineering so it's going to br taught to us from 2nd year . Being a first year student I liked our professor as they are very helpful. But there are indeed certain professor who are tough to deal but with polite and gentle talking they can also be helpful. The exams that are conducted here are moderate level . So if you study 1-2hr everyday then you can Ace in exams . As the professor here are tough with us so they are already preparing us for the corporate world

Internships Opportunities :

As I am new into this college so I have very little idea about internship opportunities but as told by seniors the internships are good especially when it's placement season.. if you have good CV then you can get pre placement offer

Placement Experience :

Placements vary alot according to the global issues . If there are no global issues, GDP is in up then placements are good. There are companies like Amazon (sometimes) , Infosys, Wipro , tech Mahindra, JSW , vedanta that visit this college for campus placement. 80-85% of students get placement My plan is to get a good money offering job

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The course fees will cost you Max to Max 41,400 rupees per year if you lie in general category. Else you may as well just avail your reservation benefits that I had mentioned before . If you want to live in hostel then it will cost you around 48000 rupees per year After joining this college, you will get a lot of chance to get a lot of scholarships .

Campus Life :

As this college is one of the oldest colleges of odisha , so the infrastructure is a bit old but they are making new buildings which will be ready shortly. But the campus is beautiful ????. There are alot of clubs that you can join in . Like if you are interested in rockets then you can join IIC , if you are interested in cars then you can join veer racers etc. Also the library is good . You will get every book you will be required in your 4 years of engg Classrooms are big enough and comfortable. Although there are no ACs but its quite ventilated enough not to feel humid and hot ... Also there are lot of sport events that are conducted every year so you can show your talent

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facility is not upto the mark . The bathrooms and washrooms are maintained but they sometimes stink. The rooms are big enough for 3 person but you have to adjust. Meal quality is okish . I mean it could have been better. While registering for this college you will be ask if you want to accommodate into hostel or not so while admission process only you will deposit the hostel fees

Admission :

I had appeared for jee mains exam and I got enough percentile to get into vssut . My percentile was 83 which is enough to get me into any decent branch but I opted for chemical engineering as it was in my field of interest. College had called us for the admission process and it was good and smooth . We were told to sit and wait for our names to be called. After the admission process is done we were told to visit the campus. Eligibility of the course is if you have secured more than 60 percentile in jee mains for general category... Also if you have secured more than 75% in your 12th board exams . As I havent availed any reservation benefits but I can tell you there are certain reservation benefits that you can avail like TFW , SC/St , female , etc...

Placement Experience:

At our college, students usually start looking for jobs from the 6th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and others visit the campus to hire students. The number of job offers varies each year. The highest and average salaries depend on the company and the job roles they offer. Not all students might get placed, but the college tries to help as many as possible. As for me, after getting my degree, I'll probably look for a job that matches my skills and interests. If that doesn't work out, I might consider further studies or gaining more experience through internships.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario for now it not that good. There is regression going on so the companies aren't taking that many students. From the 3rd year you are eligible for placements. 450 companies came this year for placements making 5200 job offers. The highest placement this year was 63 lacs by Yugabyte. Average CTC is 8.5 lacs in all streams. Mass recruiters like Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Mindtree, Bosch, Ericsson, IBM etc. Many other notable companies that visited are Bain & Company, CME group, DE shaw & co, JP Morgan Chase etc. According to kiit website, 90% students are placed. 2100 students also got internships via capstone route. My plans after getting the degree is to do a job for some years and then after getting some experience I want to do a startup.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Several reputable companies visit, including names like TechCorp and Innovate Solutions, offering diverse roles. The highest package is around 10 LPA, while the average hovers around 5 LPA. Approximately 80% of students secure placements, showcasing the college's commitment to fostering employability. For more comprehensive information on the companies that visit, you can explore the details provided on the official placement page: [Placement Details](https://autonomous.gift.edu.in/placement/). As for my plans, I aim to explore opportunities aligned with my field of study, seeking a role that allows for continuous learning and professional growth. My plans after the degree is to hold a good job placing myself as being capable enough to get placed

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because now days this course is so demandable and this course is very popular in our collage. There no of 60+ faculties are available and no of students will 3000+ in various streams. All the facilities are highly educated and experienced. There are 2semisters in a year. One is odd semister and second one is even semister. And the examination is very strict process.
