Course Curriculum Overview :
I took the course because I wanted to prepare for government service and civil is considered best for it. The curriculum prepares us for the real world. It's syllabus matches with that of ESE exams. The practical labs conducted are good and aim to solidify our understanding of the the theory classes. I suggest more emphasis should be on project based learning. There is a major exam at the end of the semester along with some quizzes and a mid sem exam.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities are good. A lot of companies offer internship opportunities for all students whether they are first year , second year or third year . The consultancy companies generally provide pest packages .
Placement Experience :
Placements are really good even in these times of recession . Average package is around 18 Lpa . Companies that visit are from tech sector , consultancy companies as well as core companies from each department. I plan to join government service after getting my degree .
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tution fees is about 1 lakh per semester and it has remained same for four semesters. Complete cost of education is 1.5 lakhs per semester . Students of Sc/St and ews enjoy tution fees waiver. I have participated in managing the fests that are organised in the college.
Campus Life :
The annual cultural fest is Rendezvous and the annual technical fest is named Tryst. Rendezvous is North India's biggest cultural fest. A lot of books and journals are available in the library covering a lot of topics which are easily accessible. The labs and classrooms are well equipped.
Hostel Facilities :
The room consists of a bed, a table, a chair, fan and tubelight. A room is shared by two people and there is a wall partion in between which provides good privacy. The hostels are quite affordable with a fees of 30000 each semester. I do not live in a rented room but those who do rent a room generally stay close in Jiyasarai.
Admission :
Admission is through JEE Advanced exam. The cut-off rabk fir my branch was around 2700. The exam is conducted yearly and it has a selection ratio of 1 percent. The process of admission should be similar to foreign colleges.
