- Hostels are not upto the mark, smaller rooms, worse internet and no geyser or washing machine.
- Grading system needs to be improved. Rather than just taking maximum marks in account percentage based grading must be there
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is fairly relevant. The first year mainly focuses on the basics of all type of engineering. The curriculum could have been more updated as those in IIITs making students future ready with relevant industry driven skills. But still the coding culture of the college is great, students are self motivated and most of knowledge they gain is through peer discussion.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are great if you are enthusiastic to join the field and work on your skills you can find yourself many opportunities in pre final year. And even the NIT tag help you get research interns out of college if you have skills.
Placement Experience :
Placements are very great. NIT tag does help you anywhere and on-campus nearly all top companies visit, the T n P Cell is also great. If you maintain a good cgpa above 6.5 and acclaim requires skills you will be easily placed on a decent package around 10 lpa.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Since it's a Government college, getting fee wavier is not a big deal if you really need waiving. Government provides full fees for sc/st candidates and also those general/obc candidates who have family income less than a lakh per annum. Also 2/3 of total fees is remitted for the students who have income between 1lakh-5lakh. Campus employment is also great you can work as research interns under professor and claim stipends and incentives.
Campus Life :
Campus life is really great. There is a lot of freedom, no in-time or curfew time is applicable on boys. Annually 4-5 fests are easily organized. The infamous maffick and technosearch are part of them. The E-cell of our college is largest E cell of India after IIT Bombay. And is at first in terms of highest funding claimed. There are all sorts of technologies and equipments present in labs and departments. The sports Complex is also great, you can play each sort of games and sports. Societies and groups are also active in recruiting and performing activities around college.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel life is not that great. It's fair, wifi is weak, you might find yourself roaming around with your phone in air to catch networks, no gysers or washing machines available however weekly laundry service is there. Rooms are small for triple occupancy.
Admission :
The application process was quite simple. I gave the Jee mains and sat in Josaa counselling, the cutoff was fairly high as it's an NIT college. When I was alotted this college I was then called for a physical reporting and document verification after that I was alotted a hostel the same date. And the course began from the following week onwards.
