- The orientation program at the beginning of the course is very well formulated so that students get an idea of how their MBA life is going to be and be prepared for it.
- Professors are very friendly and approachable. They make sure that you understand all the concepts in a clear and concise way.

- There is no indoor auditorium or swimming pool.
- Also, the batch size is huge so double sharing rooms are allotted in first year.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am a computer science graduate with interest in data science. But these days, it is advisable to educate yourself in more domains. And that is why I opted for MBA in analytics because it gives the best of both world. I get to learn about business and analytics both. The curriculum is very well designed to incorporate both management and analytics core subjects. In second year, we get to choose our own electives. Our major would be fixed, that is analytics. But we get to choose any other area as our minor. Grading is done in many ways: one is mid-term examination, then end-term examination, quizzes, class participation, end-term projects and assignment. There are 6 terms spread over two years. Each term is of three months roughly. Mid-term happens in the middle of the second month.
Internships Opportunities :
It starts from big brands like ICICI bank, YES bank and GSK and Tata Group. Tiger Analytics, MAQ, Bajaj, Sharda Automobiles, PUMA, TVS and many more brands come. The stipend varies from 20,000 to 1,50,000 per month. The roles are of sales development, talent acquistion, product manager, marketing associate and many more. Summer internships are for 2-3 months and gives you a platform to work and gain real experience of working in corporates.
Placement Experience :
The placement committee provides both summer internships and final year placements to the students. Many companies visit like ICICI, Tata Capital, Tata Motors, Bajaj Capital, GSK, etc. GSK offered an internship of 1.2 lakhs per month. ICICI offered 80,000 per month. Others offered in the range of 25,000 to 40,000 per month. All the students who sit for placements get placed. The profile varies from sales to marketing to product management and HR roles. My plans after getting this degree is to work in the corporate sector as an HR professional.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure for the batch of MBA (Analytics) for the years 2023-2025 is 18,00,000 Indian rupees. It includes the hostel charges but not the mess fee. Mess fee is to be paid term-wise which means by the end of every three months. There are no other charges. But if you want to go for exchange program, it can cost an additional of 1-2 lakhs. Analytics folks have a short-term exchange program. A variety of scholarships are floated throughout the year by the institute based on needs and merit. Students can avail financial aids from the National scholarship portal as well and also from their state government schemes. Internships and final placements are offered by the placement committee. Highest package last year was 37 LPA and the average was 18.1 LPA.
Campus Life :
The campus life is the best that you can ask for. It is like a whole different world inside. The campus has a lot of facilities if you like sports. And if you are interest in cultural events then the cultural committee is there to host events throughout the year. Agnitraya (inter-college fest), Prarambh and Sangraam are some of the fests that are held in January, October and December respectively. A new library has been set up and it has a lots of books and journals. We have a separate recreation room as well. Students can play table tennis, lawn tennis, basketball, cricket, badminton, frisbee, football and many more. It is a student-run campus and there is a student council as well. There are 30+ clubs and committees based on their working and interests.
Admission :
The admission process started from writing the CAT examination which is usually held in the month of November. The fee for the form is INR 2400. It can be found on the official website of CAT and the notification is generally released in August. The exam's difficulty level varies from moderate to tough. It happens only once a year. After clearing the aptitude test, interview calls are released. Some IIMs (BLACKIS) send their separate interview calls but for new and baby IIMs, we need to register for CAP. After getting these interview calls, interview dates and time slots are allotted. On clearing the interviews, an official admission offer is made. The eligibility of the course is that you need to hold an undergraduate degree with an aggregate of 50%. For reserved categories, it's 45%. Students who are in their final year can also write the exam but they have to show their degree certificate at the time of admission or whenever demanded by the institutes.
Interview Experience :
There was an aptitude test (CAT). It was the first round to get an admission in IIM Kashipur. Then for MBA (Analytics), a separate admission form was floated. It costed around 1400 Indian rupees. They have a separate criteria for shortlisting the candidates for interview. Then the dates and time slots for interviews are emailed. My interview revolved mainly around my hobbies, personal interests and the papers that I had studied during my undergraduation. I prepared for them seeing youtube videos and reading on Quora. The composite score that is prepared for shortlisting candidates for interview is made up of 10th, 12th, UG marks, gender diversity, work experience and if the candidate is an engineer or not.
Other Applied Colleges
ISM Dhanbad - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITISM] | Master of Business Administration [MBA]
I did not opt for IIT Dhanbad because IIM Kashipur's ranking, brand and package is better for MBA.
