Insights of IIT BHU

Dislikes

  • Campus : the campus though is very green and beautiful and large but the concept of open campus makes it very unsafe and proctors need to take proper measures to ensure the safety of each student .
  • Alignment with Bhu : this makes the campus even more unsafe as some student at bhu have political influence and thus creates an unsafe environment as they feel free to do whatever they want .

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is well managed , not so hard that it's hard to comprehend or cover and not easy enough that could be covered within one night before exam , usually what college students do . A well maintained study achedule of 2-3 hrs daily would help you to manage syllabus smoothly. Since I am a first year student this is the description of the curriculum of first and second semester at iit bhu . I chose Btech mining at iit bhu , not because I was intrested in the course i chose because I was intrested in iit bhu as it offers branch change in first year and has very good placements in software comparing to other iits and was the best option available at my rank . The curriculum of first year is same for all branches including a branch specified subject . The course is already well designed by much experienced professors and being I student I don't feel eligible to suggest any change. The difficulty level of exam depends on the conveners and some are easy while some are hard

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There is very minimal rate of hike in the tuition fees . Since it's a government institute there is very low probability that the fee would have any abrupt hike. But the fee structure is reviewed every year and hostel and mess are planned accordingly (considering food cost , electricity cost and other charges required to assist , if they have a hike , these are increased) . The cost of one semester is 1,06,000 and 15000 of mess .Totally its around 10,00,000 and other cost of travelling to hometown and daily expenditures including around 1,50,000.(depends on how much a student feels to expend, constant clubbing and trips if planned within college days , higher expenditure) Not available if you are generally and income more than 500000 . Available in case you have some caste or economic reservation from the government and many more schemes launched . The opportunities offered in campus is very high, it's just that the intrested hardworking and eligible student would grab it.

Campus Life :

The fests I witnessed in iit bhu yet are : Saturnalia (sept) Spardha (sports fest - oct) Mun fest (sept) Fmc weekend (nov) Kashiyatra (annual fest -jan) E-summit((feb) Jhankar(march) Technex(march) Sochem/Shilp/Mincent(branchwize fest , time as prefers by hods ) Jhankar (dance fest -april)/ khsitiz (masquerade-april) Club wise and many more fests decided by clubs . Almost all the pdfs are available and shared by profs that are required for curriculum, rest all famous books are available in the library and can be issued by any student freely. All sports are available with coaches , all u need is enthusiasm to join and consistency in practice to improve .Similarly there is an imc wmc club of music , dfz for dance , lit club for literary amd comedy, social clubs like kashiutkarsh and soc, masq for acting , upsc club, robotics , coding , aeromodelling , E cell and many can't be listed due to word limit. Makes a studenthighlyengaged Classrooms have projectors for ppt presentation. No ac in classroom

Admission :

The admission process at iits is quite smooth . Same for me , most of the documents were approved earlier itself at the time of josaa counselling . I paid the admission fee along with the semester fee from my home itself conveniently .and some remaining approval of hostel and mess and making Id cards was done on the admission day itself within few hours and the process was completed after submitting some necessary documents . I qualified jee advance for admission at iitbhu and the cutoff marks depends on the level of question paper and is relatively calculated depending on marks achieved by each candidate. Being a general candidate u should achieve minimum 100(around) marks for just qualifying and more than 150 marks if u wish to have cse as your branch in any iit , and more than 200 for a desired iit. There was nothing as such I see that I don't like in the admission process as the admission process of iits is well structured , organized and well coordinated by josaa and iits and is smooth

Placement Experience:

From the 6th semester, students can start getting placement if they had done an internship with any company. Otherwise, in the 7th and 8th semesters, most of the students get the placement. Many renowned companies come and offer jobs in college. About 70 percent of the students get the placement.

Placement Experience:

More specifically if I am talking about placement is that if you want to get good placements in dei that you must maintain your sgpa at least 8 points for you to appear in the placement cell. There are many companies visited in college like torrent power for electrical branch and other for their respective branches. Around 60% of students get their placements through college and it also depends on students' ability and skills. Since I am in the 4th semester so yes from 3rd year students get their training or internship through college to students with good grades. So you must have to maintain at least 8 sgpa for better placements.
