IIT BHU: An overview by Yash

Dislikes

  • The campus is open so the roads are full of vehicles.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum according to the branch is quite good because I have always likes chemistry and which made me choose this course and my branch also includes some of the courses of other branches which are required in the future courses related to my branch. We have two exams in each semester first is midsem which is conducted within 2 months of start of the semester and the other one is end sem which is at the end of the semester. The midsem exam carries about 40% weightage of the total syllabus and the remaining and mejor weightage is carried by the end sem exam. Some of the subject includes labs also so the weightage is splitted accordingly.

Internships Opportunities :

Our college provides on campus interships to the students one year before their graduation means 3rd year for B. Tech. students and 4th year for IDD students. The companies which come for placement generally give opportunities for intership also and there are some research interships also for my branch there is a Canada based mitacs internship for research.

Placement Experience :

The students become eligible for the placement in the year of graduation means 4th year for B. Tech. students and 5th year for IDD students. There are various companies that visit to my college like J. P. Morgan, Microsoft, Accenture, Uber etc and the average package is approx 18LPA which is second highest among IITs. The placement rate is quite good as 97% students gets placed. I am also planning to get placed in an IT company after getting my degree

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total academic fee for general category students is 121965 in which 100000 is tution fee which is 50% for OBC and 0 for SC/ST/PwD candidates also there is 12000 mess fee. The academic fee contains Tution fee, Registration/ Enrolment fee, Examination fee, Gymkhana fee, Festival fee, Medical fee, Hostel fee. There is scholarship provided by the college and also by the UP government.

Campus Life :

The environment of the college campus is quite good there are a lot of festivals that take place in our college campus especially the Kashiyatra which is the biggest fest of our college and there are a lot of other fest there is a sports fest named Spardha. There is a good range of books in our library which contains a reading hall as well. There are two lecture theatres for all the departments and there are private lecture theatres of the departments too in which the classes of departmental courses take place. The sports facility in my college is one of the best in India it has many sports and a student activity center and two big three big grounds. There are two main students bodies which are SCS(Students counselling service) and the students parliament. The SCS takes care of the problems of student which can be financial physical or mental and the students parliament solves the problem which are being faced in the campus like water electricity.

Hostel Facilities :

We have a very good hostel of 7 floors and there are 500+ triple sharing rooms each floor has one common room and there is a study room as well. There is 24 hrs supply of electricity and water in the bathroom and for drinking purpose there are 2 purifier installed watercoolers in every floor. The mess food in our hostel is good the registration process for the first year hostel is a bit complicated as there are a lot of documents required but for the upcoming years it is very easy and smooth and there are restrictions for 1st year students as their hostel remains closed from 10PM to 6AM but for 2nd year and so there is no restriction.

Admission :

The admission process was very smooth but I had to give the very hard JEE Advanced exam to get the admission in the college. To give JEE Advanced exam first we have to clear the JEE Mains exam with the required cutoff which is different for different categories and for general it is around 85-90 percentile for my category which is EWS it was 70 percentile when I gave JEE Mains back in 2022. After JEE Mains I had to give the JEE advanced exam which is almost similar to JEE main in terms of syllabus but very different in terms of difficulty level as it is the toughest exam in India I got 2288 rank in GEN-EWS category which was the opening rank of my branch in this category. The JEE Mains exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the application form is available on its website and the JEE advanced exam is conducted by any top IIT and the application form is available on website of JEE advanced.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th semester, students can start getting placement if they had done an internship with any company. Otherwise, in the 7th and 8th semesters, most of the students get the placement. Many renowned companies come and offer jobs in college. About 70 percent of the students get the placement.

Placement Experience:

More specifically if I am talking about placement is that if you want to get good placements in dei that you must maintain your sgpa at least 8 points for you to appear in the placement cell. There are many companies visited in college like torrent power for electrical branch and other for their respective branches. Around 60% of students get their placements through college and it also depends on students' ability and skills. Since I am in the 4th semester so yes from 3rd year students get their training or internship through college to students with good grades. So you must have to maintain at least 8 sgpa for better placements.

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college have been great so far. All the major companies and tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, AWS, DELL, etc came for placements this year. The average package this year for BTECH students was 8.6 lakhs per annum. Also, the highest package so far has been 44 lakhs p.a. Almost all students are placed with good packages so it is an ideal choice to choose Bennett University for higher education.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good in GCET, Although they vary from time to time. For placements, students are eligible from the 7th Sem. Companies like Direct-I, Samsung, Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, etc. all visited the campus. The highest package I now am 21LPA buy it can be more. And except recession 60-70%, people are placed. Rest it all depends on students as well.
