Entrance Preview :
NIFT has a great reputation and a great curriculum. The subject is job oriented and futuristic. Nift is one of the best colleges for fashion and design in the world. They have amazing, down to earth faculties who are ready to help students and they have world-class equipment and labs for learning.
Course Curriculum Overview :
They have an amazing curriculum in all the bachelor and master's course. The curriculum is job oriented. They have recently revised their syllabus to the current scenario to compete with international standard. The topic is well covered with the industrial standard.
Placement Experience :
Nift has a great reputation for placement. The placement happens every year for two days. Different companies from all around the world from small to big MNC participate in our placements. Nift has a great placement record and almost all the students get a job with minimum more than average package.
College Events :
Nift celebrates a lot of events and festival all around the year. One of the prominent events is the spectrum. Spectrum is an inter-college cultural festival where colleges from all around the city participate and rejoice. Nift also celebrates different national festival irrespective of the religion.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
One might say that the fee is comparatively expensive to other colleges but I feel like every penny is worth it. Fashion college is generally a little expensive than other general colleges because they depend highly on their equipment and labs. When compared to other fashion college nift charge nominal fees for great education and experience.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Nift does have scholarships for underprivileged students. They provide the scholarship every year to the deserving students based on their merit.
Campus Life :
Nift is known for its amazing campus life. Students come from different part of the country and are very diverse yet United. Nift has more female students than male. But it won't be a problem. Nift encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities like competition, sports, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
Nift Chennai has a separate hostel for men and women students. Men hostel building stands in the NIFT campus itself. While women hostel is 2km away from the campus. But they have transport facility to college both morning and evening.
Alumni/Alumna :
They have a very well connected alumni network and association. It is useful to connect with the other students and faculty.
Exam Structure :
Nift has both written and practical examination. The written exam has a basic traditional written exam structure. They have mid-term and end-term exams. The practical exam is a little different from others. They have judges from different places from industry and from other colleges to have non-biased ranking.
Admission :
We have to write a separate entrance exam to get admission in NIFT. They have two rounds of entrance exam. One is written test which is in OMR formate. They will ask questions from general topic like English grammar, general knowledge, aptitude and few fashion based questions. Those who passed this test will be called for second round. The second round is group discussion and personal interview. The GD will be based on a general fashion case study and personal interview is very easy where they will ask about yourself.
Faculty :
The faculties are very well educated and are experienced in their field. They have a great knowledge and are ready to pass it on to the students. The faculties are very friendly and approachable and they are willing to help students all the time.
