Shrey Bhanushali's Review On Dwarkadas J Sanghvi College Of Engineering - [DJSCE], Mumbai

Remarks :

The overall experience here at Djsce is great. There are a few things that can be worked out for the good. The campus has fully centralised AC and that seems an advantage over the most of the colleges in Mumbai. So I am quite pleased with my experience.

Entrance Preview :

Admission to my college was through MHT-CET (Engg entrance for colleges in Maharashtra). I scored 115 on this particular exam and got into this college in the third CAP round. I chose DJ Sanghvi because of the teaching level, the crowd, and the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It's basically a four year course and the first year for all the colleges is same. There are many cons in the course structure too. Some of the important aspects such as time management lag in this course. The course is same as the Mumbai university pattern. So overall it is definitely quite good.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, it does provide internships but since I am in the first I've not got much idea regarding this. DJSCE has teams or societies for each branch which is quite a great experience.

Placement Experience :

I've heard that quite reputed companies like Tata, Mahindra, BAJA, etc visit the campus during the placements. There's a placement cell that one can get in touch for detailed review. The average package of a student is 400000 per annum and the highest package goes up 2500000 per annum. There was also a student in the computer Engg that took a package of 75 lakhs a couple of years ago.

College Events :

All kind of events take place here at DJSCE. There's a cultural fest Trinity ( did not happen in 2018). Also, the fest section is more active in the even semesters (2,4,6,8). The odd semesters are quite boring since there's not much happening in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees for the first year was around 1.4 lakhs which is a little expensive considering the other colleges. But due to facilities provided, it seems worth it . Around 1.2 lakhs would've been perfect if we consider the whole prospectus of the College.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I've not availed any scholarship but a friend of mine did. He got half the fee amount from the college(the condition was that your family income should be less than 600000). There are more scholarships available and again there's a devoted cell for this.

Campus Life :

Extracurricular activities suck here. Not much scope for it except the societies or teams that are into designing vehicles (Mechanical department). The gender is ratio seems quite bad. 90-10 ratio of boys and girls here at DJSCE just like any other Engineering college.

Alumni/Alumna :

Seniors are quite helpful but not heard much about the alumni. The seniors are quite amazing people as they though a lot about this college. The college provides interactive events to get acquainted to them.

Exam Structure :

The lab faculty is quite amazing. Here, they believe in more of practical work than theory. The lab and exam timetable is quite sorted. We have two unit tests before the final Semester exams. So we are quite prepared for the final semester of the college. The exam cell is quite proactive during this period.

Admission :

It was through CAP rounds. You get admission on the basis of your CET score. Quite sorted admission process . It is same as all the colleges of MU. Easy and simple. One particular day. We are called for admission and everything is explained properly regarding the procedure .

Talking about placements, most of the placements occurs in CSE and IT branch, but surprisingly in the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, the Mechanical branch has the same placements comparatively just the fact is that the package is less.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Placement Experience:

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.

The college Bajaj Institute of Technology, Wardha is very reputed college as it is Shiksha Mandal's college. I saw many advertisement about this college throughout the year and that's why choose to take admission in it.

Placement Experience:

Till now no company has visited. 2 students are selected and that is with their own efforts. Not having any job referral because hardly few students are placed. In startup one group won the hackathon and I guess they are doing their startup thing
