Course Curriculum Overview :
The Full-Time MBA programme at FMS Delhi is one of the most prestigious courses in the country and the alumni network is a testament to that. The faculty to student ratio is really good considering the small batch size and also the fact that the institution has employed 10+ new faculty members in the year 2022. A semester system is followed here instead of tri-mester, which is followed at most other top B-Schools, and that makes it relatively more relaxed in terms of examination frequency. The difficulty level of the exams is decently high overall, and it's not that hard to pass.
Internships Opportunities :
Most of the top companies like MBBK, HUL, JPMC, GS, etc. visit the campus for offering summer internships to students. We get to see roles in all domains with very good stipends overall. The average stipend was around 2 Lakhs for the 2024 batch.
Placement Experience :
Campus placements take place in the beginning of the 4th semester, almost all the big names in the industry participate in the same. FMS has been successfully getting 100% placements throughout the years and we're hoping for the same this year, it's hard to say for sure because every B-School has taken a hit in their placement stats this year, given the grim market conditions.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure here is very desirable, it's so affordable that it's unparalleled by any other tier 1 B-school in the country. The fee was hiked by about Rs. 3000 per semester this year, raising the total fees to around 2.1 Lakhs for the whole course, and that is still less than 1/10th of most IIM's The student body is also to be paid about 45k per year on top of that, which makes you a member of the MSA along with many amenities. That however, is not mandatory (although it's best to be a part of it).
Campus Life :
The campus life is pretty good since the location is north campus. Although it's not residential, but most of us stay near the campus in our own acccomodations which is convenient enough for us to meet and interact after classes. There are many societies and clubs that you can be a part of depending upon your interests and competencies. All of these societies are completely student-run. There are many events that are held throughout the year, the biggest of which is Fiesta.
Admission :
A bachelor's degree is all you need in order to be eligible for this course. Shortlisting is done on the basis of the CAT score. All the details regarding the admission process is published on the official website, fms.edu which also includes the online application form. For those who want to avail reservation benefits, they need to produce their original certificates which are to be submitted at the time of admission.
Interview Experience :
The interview process includes three things - Statement of purpose, Extempore and Personal Interview. All these things take place together when you enter the interview room. The whole process lasts about 7-8 minutes. I prepared for this by mostly going through my past academics, basic HR answers such as why MBA, and keeping up with current affairs. Preparing for extempore is not something that can be done per se but as long as you can communicate well, it's not going to be a problem.
