- The campus is open . So, strangers enter the campus . There is always traffic in the HG Road.
- The buildings are old . Although they hold a heritage but the institute has failed to maintain it .
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course as Industrial Chemistry turned out to be a research oriented subject . The student faculty ratio is around 3:1 making doubt interactions delightful. The teachers are well qualified and all of them have PhD and post-PhD. Some are even scholars from US universities. There teaching methods are practical but also involves boring theory. The term exams are timely and occur in two parts : Midsems and Endsems . Each after around 2 Months. The exams were easy to pass . Around 1 week of study is enough for passing the exams.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities in the campus are amazing . There are also gsoc interns and there are interns even in Linux open source and companies like amazon , Google etc. Our IIT ranks no 2 in number of gsoc selections . We are in our first year and we have created a line following robot .
Placement Experience :
Generally from 6th sem onwards you can take ppos and offers.Name of some of the companies that visited our campus were : Delloite Google Tata McKinsey Texas instruments Nvidia Wipro Matlab TowerResearch Etc. No of companies visited is approx 350 and no of offers made crossed 800 + Highest package was 1.68 crore and average was around 16-18 lakh.Almost 85% students got placed . My plans after getting the degree are to pursue research .
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fees for 5years is around 1200000. This fee amount is relatively high as it is a government owned institute but there is fee remission policies for SC, ST and OBC-NCL students. There are scholarship opportunities for SC, ST and Economically weaker people.
Campus Life :
The annual fest of iit bhu is kashiyatra and tech fest is technex. Kashiyatra is conducted in January and technex is in March. The library contains plenty of books and journals like wiley , wieser etc. Classrooms are large but all of them aren't equipped with AC . Sports is the best thing about IIT BHU. We have 3 grounds and a world class Students Activity Centre. We have the SNTC council , Cultural council and much more. The programming club of IIT bhu Is known as COPS.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facility is quite nice we get water coolers , 3 gardens and 3 badminton courts. The bathrooms are equipped with geysers and we have a canteen that opens upto 2 .a.m. in the night. The meal is quite nice and we get 3 days non veg.The menu is nice and can be changed by the elected mess secretary . They also provide sweets and fruits and milk products.
Admission :
Enduring two years of rigorous preparation for JEE ADV was ough but at the same time delightful . Despite having wasted my time during class 11, my dedication paid off as I secured a place in IIT BHU . Physics turned out to be my true passion. Magnetism and modern physics emerged as my favorite chapters.
Interview Experience :
In order to get admission into an IIT one must qualify JEE ADV one of the hardest exam in the world. The test pattern is unique to each year and includes subjective as well as objective paper . The process after that is quite simple. If you get a good enough rank after the exam you can apply for JOSSA counselling and then after 6 rounds you get your institute. The process is simple and nothing to prepare for.
