- Low boys to girls ratio which makes you feel like same gender person are surrounded every where
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have a keem interest in mechanics and with my rank the most similar interest branch i was getting is Civil engineering. Boys to girl ratio about 4:1 inout branch and overally it is 8:1 .Faculties are very highly qualified here as most of the proffesore have minimum background of IIT as Mtech and Phd and most of them have done their masters and Phd from renound foreign universities. Older faculties have little boring teaching methodology like old school while the new faculties are awesome you will feel the zeal for the subject. There are regular class tests, assignment and projects for TA marks which consists 20 marks, 30 marks added for midsems and 50 marks from end sem sum up to total of 100. Note here attendence play a major role as NITR has a strict attendence rule of 85% means slight casuality may cause you a gradeback or debarr. It's not that difficult ta pass the exams but you have to be regular in your studies. One cannot pass core subject by studying one night.
Internships Opportunities :
I am in starting of third year, Internship has not started for us. Companies will start visiting the campus in between third year. Overally NITR has a great internship record with max of 1.5lakhs/month recorded and an average around 40k/month for overall internship.
Placement Experience :
From 7th semester students are eligible to sit for campus placements. Some the major campus visits are Microsoft, Oracle, Wels fargo, Barclays, Accenture, BPCL, ONGC, Tata steel, Vedanta, Nation with Namo, etc. And may more. Almost more than 90% placed in each branch with min og 90% in civil dept. While many branches have 100% placements record. My plan after degree is to pursue higher studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees is quite good as we compare to private colleges. I don't feel any major fees hike in my studentship career. I have not got any financial assistance or scholarship for my studies but there are many scholarship out one can opt if they are eligible.
Campus Life :
College life is great here like one of the best you can get in india. There are several fest organised here like each branch has their own fest but i will mention some major fests here. Innovision the greatest tech fest of eastern india conducted on the month of november, Nitrutsav- the cultural and literary fest conducted on the month of march and cosmopolitan- the multi ethnic fest conducted on the month of January. Apart from this Vriddhi- sports fest and each hostel conducts garden fest and hall day a year. Almost major general books are available in the library. Class rooms are well equipped with AC's, smart board and mic facilities. NITR has a great sporting culture and also equipped with well supported grounds and play area for different type of sports also an olympic size swimming pool. NITR has almost 100 clubs in their campus and many are doing great at the national level they all are run by students.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is well-equippes with all basic facilities. Free lan connection at each room with a speed og 18mbps(max) ans room size is decent for 2 people sharing. Menu is great and some mess has great qualitycof food based on their cateting services. Hostles are highly affordable and we have washing machine at each floor and geyser at each bathroom. Hostel registration and fees are to be submitted along with college fees combined.
Admission :
Eligibility of course is minimum 75% is class 12 with opted subject PCM. Students can fill application for entrance exam online as JEE-MAINS portal. Once you are done with the exam based on your performance you have to fill your preffered branch and college in a preffernece order on JOSAA site and here according to your rank you are alloted your deserved college. I am fully satisfied with the admission processs and don't see any further improvement.
