The environment here and campus is really good.
Campus is large and green and fun to roam around.

Very far away from home, and in remote area.
Mess food is not very good, sometimes insects are spotted in food.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is overall related to mechanical and somewhat of aerospace. So the course curriculum is related to phys. faculty members are also nice, but there behaviour too. The course is somewhat hard if we do not follow the proper time management.

Class Size : 73Course Fees : INR 300000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees are around 1.5 lakhs which have 1 lakh tution fees and around 42k mess and hostel fees. For SC/ST candidates the tution fees are not applicable. so it is around 3 lakh annually considering other expenses.

Campus Life :

there are two fest which are Spring fest fest and Kshitij which is Techno management fest. also many more clubs and soc for sports and games, music and all. the library is very wide with many books, we can also find which book we want digitally.

Admission :

To get a seat in any IIT one needs to qualify JEE advanced exam with a good rank. The seat allocation is done by JoSAA. My selection was unreal as I was just an average student in my class, but yes I did it.

Review of IEM Kolkata, a strict Engineering College.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for the placements after the sixth semester. The companies that generally visit us for placements are TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, Oracle, IBM and some other ones. The highest package offered through last years is 22 Lacs Per Annum and on average it is 4-5 LPA. 90% students on average get placed Every year. My plans after getting the Degree is to pursue Freelancing Full Time and Become a Web Designer.

Placement Experience:

Students from 5th semester onwards become eligible for campus placements TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, and Redhat are just a few examples of some service-based companies that offer placements to uem kolkata students. The highest package was 72 LPA and the average was 8.8 LPA. Almost 70-80% got placed. After getting the degree I want to be a javascript developer

Good Placements

Placement Experience:

We become eligible from the later part of the third year to sit for the placements as the companies arrive then. Mainly placements are dependent on service-based companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro e.t.c. who mass recruits a whole lot of students with standard 3.5 to 4 LPA packages. Product-based companies like Oracle, Amazon, and trilogy too visited the campus. Oracle recruited a few of the candidates, Amazon too but nobody could clear the trilogy's OA rounds. Oracle offered a package of 15lpa and Amazon around 22 LPA. But a lot of students applied off campus and the highest placement off campus was 72 LPA in Google. The placement percentage is nearly 100% which is mainly due to the fact of service-based companies. I too am interested in IT jobs so am preparing for the same.
