I learned many things other than engineering

Remarks :

There is also medical and dental college inside the campus. As they are not getting enough money from engineering they pay little attention towards it.

Entrance Preview :

I got the college through Anna University councelling based on 10+2 cut off marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths. One can also get the seat in management quota.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The teaching method would be in the exam point of view only. You just have to by hard the books and write it in all the exam. For Final year project, the HoD collects some amount and will get you pass. Then how one is able to focus on the research side.

Internships Opportunities :

No, there were no internships. You are allowed to go inplant training and internship on your own in vaccations only. They won't allow during semesters.

Placement Experience :

In Mechanical Engineering, you will be placed in a 3rd grade company for an operator post. In those companies, you have to work for about 10 hours for Rs.8000 salary. Some students will be placed in marketing jobs and some in non technical jobs(it jobs).

College Events :

Annual Culturals, House matches and Departmental Paper presentation will be conducted once in a year. Four Houses will play for the House cup. They along with students who got good marks in semester will be prized in the annual culturals. Some Departments conduct symposiums from their own expenses.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The tution fee for councelling admitted candidates is Rs.40000 per year and for management seat it is Rs.60000. The Hostel Fees is Rs. 65000 per year. The transportation fee depends upon the km. Minimum it is ₹15000 to maximum ₹40000. Before every semester, there will be breakage fee for college and hostel.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I got anna university tution fee waiver scholarship but the management refused to give me that.I got that through other ways.

Campus Life :

Regarding Mechanical Engineering, there was no girl in my batch. We 65 boys were in our Class. Now the mechanical seats are increased to 120.There was no student unions, and political organizations. In my batch, many students were from agricultural background.

Hostel Facilities :

They provide chicken, 4 days in a week and an egg, 2 days in a week. Those who are providing food will be unhygiene. Hostel rooms are 3 sharing with and without attached bathrooms. First and Final years will be one hostel. Second and Third years in sepearte hostel.

Alumni/Alumna :

No, I don't have any contact with my seniors. Some of my friends got jobs with their contact with senior students.

Exam Structure :

For internals, there would be 1 or 2 exams per day. The Syllabus for the internals would be 1/3 of full syllabus. There will be two internals and one model exam. A model exam will be conducted before the semester exam with full syllabus. For Models, there will be one exam per day.

Admission :

The Admission process is quite simple. After you chose the college in councelling , you just have to fill a form with basic details and they will collect your certificates like 10th, 10+2, Communty, etc from you. And then you just have to pay the fee.

Faculty :

They had finished their M.E. That's it. Except 1 or 2 remaining others don't know anything about mechanical engineering. Even the HoD is not qualified to his post other than his M.E. You cannot ask doubts on the subject because they are not able to clear it.

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
