No campus interview opportunity

Remarks :

Student freedom is very less. Scope for placement is very low because of college's policy.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Even though the course curriculum and examination are under the direct control of Anna University. Industrial visits are very less compared to other colleges. Management don't bother about extra curricular activities. During our final year we boycotted our classes to arrange for an industrial visit. We were not allowed to leave the hostel without parents' permission. Also we are allowed to learn any courses outside the premises. They also didnt arrange one for us. Mere degree without any additional skill is mere waste in this competitive world.

Placement Experience :

Placement training programmes were conducted for us during our third and final year. BPO companies like HCL bserv, Andromeda and core companies which cannot even pay for month's food, travel and accommodation came for recruitment. Many of my classmates still struggling to find a decent job.

College Events :

Symposiums, conferences and annual day function. Entrepreneur's day was celebrated once and we all became entrepreneurs over night. Since we have medical and dental college in our campus we get free dental and medial checkup once. Also we were given free treatment for simple illness.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees structure is as directed by Anna University. Mostly no additional fee was asked during my course. We were ought to pay cash or Demand draft in the accounts department. In terms of fees, they were very very transparent. In case of management seats, students need to pay management fee as per the course.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes, I opted for scholarship thourough my college as per by my community quota. I didn't opt for education loan for my course.

Campus Life :

Depending upon the course the gender ratio varies. In the courses like ECE and bio technology, female ratio is more. In courses like mechanical engineering, automobile engineering and electrical engineering male ratio is more. In computer science and information technology the gender ratio is 1:1.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes. I have opted for hostel. All the rooms are wel ventilated. POnly few rooms had attached toilets. Rooms with attached toilets is double sharing. And other rooms are thouree sharing and some are 5. We had stores inside ladies hostel. It had biscuits, chocolates and had basic toiletries.

Alumni/Alumna :

No alumini meetings held so far. It would be helpful for students who are currently studying if any alumini meet is conducted.

Admission :

I joined the college based upon cumulative cutoff marks thourough Anna University during Aug 2008. I opted ECE as guided by my father's professor friend. Since the college is referred by my father's friend I had chosen this. Also they mentioned the location as Chennai in the college website and I thought I could get good exposure since it is in a city. Later I felt betrayed as the college is located 80kms off the city.

Faculty :

it is the duty of professors and lecturers to prepare the students by pouring in their knowledge. But the staff members are not doing well in the subjects except very few. They just come and write something and leave the class. They themself are not clear about the subjects. Students just read the local author books to pass the exams.

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
