Course Curriculum Overview :

I have chosen the Department of Electrical Engineering here because this college is one of the best colleges for pursuing Electrical Engineering. Faculty-student ration in this branch is around 1:10.All of the faculties are highly qualified from colleges like IITs, iisc. But sometimes it is harder to understand the teaching method of faculties. Exams are conducted regularly, two in every semester.

Class Size : 80Course Fees : INR 75000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Internships opportunity at this college is very good, every year many students got to intern at companies like Google, Microsoft, Samsung etc. Many 2nd yr and 3rd yr students got intern on the basis of their projects.

Placement Experience :

The placement stats of this college is nice. From the 5th semester, students become eligible for placement. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon etc also come in this college, the year average package of college is around 12 lakh per annum and the placement percentage is around 80%

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

In this college, the Tuition fee is around 75000 for general category students. Reservations are given to sc and st category students. There is also a system of reservation on the basis of family income for general and obc students. If family income is less than 1 lakh then there will be a full waiver on tuition fee and if income is between 1 to 5 lakh there will be a 2/3 waiver in fee, Also mess and hostel fee is 54k per year

Campus Life :

Life at the campus is good, there are so many fests which happen throughout the year. The most popular ones are Rebeca and Instruo. Also, there are so many clubs for the enhancement of students. There is a big library also which is Ramanujan Library. The sports facility is also very well. There are cricket grounds, basketball courts, volleyball courts etc. The infrastructure of this college is not good as it is a very old college.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels are not very good, they all are very old. In every room, four to five students have to live. Meal quality is also satisfactory, not too much good. Hostel registration is held at the time of admission. It is affordable but sometimes the mess bill exceeds its limit and you have to give extra charges for that. Pg is also good outside the campus

Hostel Fee : INR 54000 per year

Admission :

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur is also in the Category of NIT, So it takes admission through JEE mains which offers Btech courses with a variety of branches which is so popular among top NITs. Every year application form is released by NTA which conduct the examination in the month of February and April. Reservation benefit is also applicable in this college.

B.Tech is a great course for technological world and interest.This college mainly focus on the practical knowledge rather than only focusing on bookish things.There is so many opportunities for students who are interested in research.
