Remarks :
University is good. Faculty is good. But the main problem is funding.
Entrance Preview :
I qualified University Entrance test followed by interview. As my research area fits with the required candidate therefore I was selected for this course.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is ok. As during my Ph.D. I visited some european universities and meet many peoples from different countries. Also during national and international conferences I meet many peoples from India. And finally I concluded that it should improve the course curriculum.
Internships Opportunities :
No. For the terms of stipend, I called it they are not giving any single rupee for internship. Even Ph.D. students are not getting any single rupee. Its too annoying that its a state government university and even Ph.D student re not getting any stipend. On the other side some central government Universities and IITs are getting from 25,000 to 70,000. Its to unevenly distribution of money. I think it should also one of the most important issues for students, rather to focus on research or earning the money. Its all political issues.
Placement Experience :
No. University will not arrange any placements. After study universities job is done. They are not responsible for any placements. Yes but sometimes professor send us some job advertise and than we apply for that. But more or less students are finding the jobs by their own.
College Events :
There is some groups active in the university. Often they organize events. Its not that big. Every festival celebrated with joy. As university is not that big so its not that much big level than any other big universities. something like 700 to 1000 people were gather for festivals and it depend on the events and interest f peoples.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
As per state government university fees structure is too much. Just like private universities. So if some poor student who came to university to take an admission by hearing the government university but they can not afford it. We have many time ask to the administration but in return we only got the answer is that its a new university.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
May be some state scholarship for week students. But its very limited. Its a hard to get this scholarship who is outside of uttarakhand.
Campus Life :
Campus life is good. Little bit conservative. People can not go out after 8 PM. Students can not go out after 10 or 11 PM from the hostel. its too weird for me. Sport department is good. many sports facilities available. Labs are good. As I said every kind of events they organized.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels in the university is pretty good. Untill 2014 single room for single person. But after that due to many students admission they keep 2 students in a single room. As room is made for only 1 person, I mean its not that big to accommodate 2 people. Anyways for Ph.D. students its a single room. So never face any problem. Hestl mess is ok. Sometimes very good, sometimes average and sometimes bad. Its a story of every hostel.
Alumni/Alumna :
yes. they are very helpful in terms of to get the jobs. Any further guidance they are like the friends.
Exam Structure :
its good. Its not that much hectic. Laboratories is full equipped. But I see the lack of expertise in the lab. But any ways I learn by self with discuss with professor. So its not that hard. Also I like the laboratory work so I never feels like hectic even sometimes I spend until 3 AM.
Admission :
I have applied on March or June. Exact month I didn't remembered. Also I was a masters student in the same university so that it is quite easy for me to tackle administrative processes. After clearing entrance test I called for an interview cum presentation. And in this round I selected for Ph.D.
Faculty :
Yes. They are quite good. Also my University is new in terms of research so its still developing. Just one thing is lacking is that every professor has a extra duties so sometimes its very hard to contact them. Overall faculty are knowledgeable. In my department faculties are from very diverse fields.
