My reviews on RD National College.

Dislikes

  • The noisy canteen that needs to be more hygienic.
  • The administration because it takes me much more time than is required when running for some form or a marksheet.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose the stream in this college probably because of the teachers in the department. The English department has the best teachers, all are excellent in teaching and guidance. Most of the teachers are well qualified with a Ph.D. degree in their hands along with many achievements. I can always trust the teachers and their teachings who are always ready to get us on the right path and not to mention, exam tips. If attended lectures regularly, it's not that difficult to pass any exams that the university or the college conduct. In every semester, two exams are held.

Internships Opportunities :

There have been a lot of offers on the internship program from so many companies to our English students. The advertising or the newspaper agents but none of them suited my dream career. I hope there are more internship programs for those who are interested in teaching as well.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is quite agreeable as they charge the amount in installments. There were hardly any scholarships to avail. Since ours is a government college, there is not much to expect in terms of jobs on campus or any such things. I was happy for not charging too much on my fees as compared to other colleges in Mumbai.

Campus Life :

There have been a lot of fest and fun activities that the college offer. But also it depends on how much we wanna participate. We are not forced upon attending any of the fests which is indeed very much appreciable from my side. However, we, the English department have our own social media page called the Literatibytes which is a great platform for each of us to actively participate in every of the literary activities organised by the college.

Admission :

My MA admission was done online as the offline process was not available during that time because of the pandemic. So, it was very convenient for me to get my admission done also the yearly fees are paid in two sections of installments which was pretty much manageable for me especially. Since I was an in-house student I did not undergo any entrance exam but it was fairly selected on merit. I did submit my ST form and I am sure they must have considered it. All the admission details were announced on the official website of the college including the University admission form.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to learn to read more, and also understand the Indian as well as the English literature. There is one subject names Indian literature in English translation, so the curriculum has certain poetries and a novel for the 1st semester, and it's awesome. The novel is 'Samskara' by U.R. Ananth Murthy. The people who want to pursue writing or literature for that sense in the future, this course is perfect for them.

I fell for its name But highly disappointed. HOD is very racist and teachers don’t know how to speak English. 2 or 3 staff members are worth respecting rest are useless. HOD comments on girls clothing and weight.

I liked the faculty but too slow to give syllabuls as we use to keep asking for it and then use to make us late for projects and studies too. College management was too bad. No cleanliness in washrooms and very expensive even after being a young group col
