Remarks :
The University on the whole wants to impart good education to women so that they shine in the society digital India campaign was launched at SNDT on 5th July 15 august 2015. University has taken steps to be a Digital University in the digital era.
Entrance Preview :
I did not have to give entrance exam as I had B.A. in English Literature degree. There was a written test for others who had applied for this course during their admissions.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course Curriculum is changed regularly and is kept updated as per the society and environment. They had introduced a Research paper in Semester 4 which normally is in the syllabus of Ph.D students. So, this paper was a boost for our future. My batch was the first to be introduced to the Research paper.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships were introduced in Semester 4 in my course but there was no stipend paid. The department did give internships to students but I applied on my own in an organisation.
Placement Experience :
There were no placements it was only during internships that the department assisted us with. We had to find our own job opportunities.
College Events :
Foundation day, Republic day celebrations were held. Vidhartini Sahitya Samelan would be held every year. There was also University exhibition held where stalls were put for each department and you could get information related to it. All this was on the University level and each departments would have their own functions that you could participate in.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Scholarships are offered to students upon merits and who are from OBC my friend was awarded this.
Campus Life :
There are sports events conducted and many extracurricular activities take place where students come together in-spite of their diversity. Digital India campaign where students participate in students quiz competition, Debate contest, Poster making competition, Innovative ideas for Digital India and many more.
Hostel Facilities :
Fee structure is feasible. The University has three hostels churchgate, Juhu in Mumbai and Pune. The hostel at Juhu, has a capacity of housing 400 students, is already accommodating double the number. The new hostel is planned and will be able to house another 400 students food is vegetarian care is taken to provide good food.
Alumni/Alumna :
The senior students are very helpful.
