Remarks :

If one really wants to study, NIT Srinagar is not a bad place. For getting a job one has to be proactive.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is a standard for all NITs with a small variation here and there.

Placement Experience :

Most of the bulk-recruiting companies do not visit the campus. So one has been proactive to secure a job.

College Events :

Techvaganza - for all innovative designs and robotics stuff

Campus Life :

It is picking up. Was slow a few years back due to militancy in Kashmir but now it's vibrant.

Hostel Facilities :

Food is Average Accommodation is Sharing based till 2nd year. Afterwards one gets a single room in Jhelum Hostel.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes. There is a regular alumni meet in Delhi.

Exam Structure :

It is quite a standard for all NITs. 2 minors and a final exam per semester. Total 8 semesters.

Admission :

After the AIEEE results there is an online counselling. After online counselling there is a campus counselling and you freeze the stream options. Based on your merit you get the required stream.

Faculty :

The faculty is very much qualified. However may lack in outside exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teachers put alot of effort to make children understand the concepts. they give real work examples for more clarification so that students can relate easily and understand more efficiently.. recently examination pattern has been changed we have to give one mid sem exam(20)marks and major exam (40)marks. 20 marks for quiz and 20 marks for assignments or projects.

After fifth semester, most of the students are eligible for campus placements and some of them got placed also in some companies . TCS, Maruti suzuki , orange , infosys , HCL, many electronics companies , HP and many other companies provided approx. 300 offers . The highest package of the college was approx. 32 lakh and the average package ranges from 550000 to 650000.

Good for self learners

Remarks:

Taking addmission in this college should be one's priority only if one is not economically strong and want to do B. Tech. Otherwise, try not to come here. If you can take drop, do that. Campus is close to nature. You can go to treks to take a break. There is almost no pollution at all. Air is fresh. Geographically, college is really good.

Entrance Preview:

The admission to Engineering colleges in J&K is made through JKCET entrance examination. I also got admission through same procedure where in I managed to score 102 marks. I wanted to pursue Engineering in ECE branch and the best engineering college in Jammu based on placements which offered ECE was this college.

Placement Experience:

The placements could be termed as average with most of the students getting offer letter in the range of 2.5-3 LPA. The college couldn't get the students placed in some big companies at higher pay package. The companies which visited our campus during that time included Stayam, Infosys, L&T, Mytas, Hindustan Construction, Canon.
