Course Curriculum Overview :

I particularly chose this course because I already had a background in Economics. Faculty: Student Ratio is 1:10 in this college. The professors are well qualified and PhD holders. Their teaching method is very student friendly and to the point. The term exams are conducted every 6 months i.e. the end of every semester.

Class Size : 40Course Fees : INR 30000 per year

Placement Experience :

The students become eligible for campus placements in their final year i.e., 5th semester onwards. Companies like TCS, Genpact, Tech mahindra, Infosys, etc visits for campus placements. The average package is around 3-4 lpa. Every year a large section of students are being place in renowned companies.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The course fees are quite minimal as it is a government college. Also, the college provides multiple scholarships to meritorious students as well as those from economically weaker sections. The scholarship details can be found on the college website and brochure. This college also provides good placement opportunities for freshers.

Campus Life :

Every year, the college conducts an annual fest named Caledonia and also departmental fests such as Econverge. Library is well-enriched with almost all the relevant books as the course requires. Alongside, every department also have their separate libraries. Annual sports day takes place every year in the month of July-August. There are different clubs such as Dance & Drama Club, Literary society, etc. for extra-curricular activities.

Admission :

The admission process for B.Sc. Economics does not include any entrance exam. The application form along with fee structure can be found on the college's website. Post application, the college releases merit list and accordingly takes admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Course curriculum & faculty members are quite good, 1st of all I have preferred Bsc Biotech because of my extreme interest in genetic engineering & upcoming situations of Covid 19. Also, this subject has a possibility for a Blooming future in the upcoming days of the Pandemic/epidemic. The Faculty in This college is quite good & The laboratory benefits & materials are also Supportive & workable, This college provides one of the oldest Biotech labs in West Bengal. The student ratio is also balanced. Saying about Qualification of the faculty, The Professors have atleast 6-10 yrs of teaching exp and research performs in their career, they are all friendly & supportive and helps us to explore more in this subject The term exams are Moderate & have standard questions.

Remarks:

This college still today stands to be among the first choice of every student in the hooghly district and 2nd in the Burdwan University. The only negative part is that this college has a very high political presence in the campus. Though the present government said that they oppose such strong political holds in colleges but still this words has not been kept.
