Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is Excellent, amalgamating different subjects like Marketing, Strategy, Finance, Human Resources, etc. In the first year, every student has to study the core subjects which are mandatory for all the students. In the second year, based on the CGPA, they can choose the courses of their choice. The number of faculty in the college is 43, and the number of students intake is 410, making the faculty: student ratio 1:10. All the faculty are very well experienced, and most of them have completed their PhDs from the old IIMs and IITs. The exams are usually conducted as per the schedule, and the evaluation and the paper are difficult.

Internships Opportunities :

The internship opportunities are plenty. More than 100 companies visit the campus in august, and the process ends after the entire batch gets placed. The placement team handles the process and ensures that the Interview process goes smoothly. Due to the rules of the Placement team, the names of the companies coming to the college cannot be disclosed, but the companies coming to the college are good, and the type of roles that they offer are also very diverse. As I'm still in my first year and have yet to complete my first year, I haven't completed my Internship. After I complete my Internship, I'll come back and provide a detailed review about the same.

Placement Experience :

The campus placements in our college are pretty decent. The summer placements usually start at August and go on till the entire batch gets placed. Usually, the entire batch gets placed by the end of February. More than 100 companies visit the collage for placements. All the students will be allowed to sit for the placements for all the companies they are eligible for until they get placed. The placement Team takes care of all the placements and ensures they go on smoothly. The average package for Summer Internships is around 1lakh and for the final placements is 170000 per annum. Due to the rules of the placement team, we can't disclose the companies coming to the college, but the quality of companies coming to the college is very decent.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees are 900000 per year and 1800000 for two years. The fees are a little on the higher side. The fee hike policy is unknown, but all the students can avail of the student loan from the bank on campus without any collateral. The mess fee is around 20000 per month, which is included in the 18 lakhs fees. The course material and all the textbooks required for the course will also be provided for the same fees.

Campus Life :

Campus life is very happening. Throughout the year, there are several events conducted by the various clubs and committees of the college. The Annual fest of the college is Dhruva, and it is usually conducted in the last week of January. The college also conducts various leadership and Business Conclaves like Daksha and Nishtha. The Learning Resource Center of IIM Trichy is the best in the country. It has a lot of facilities, and many books and journals are available in the LRC. The classrooms are fitted with all the modern amenities like ACs, and Projectors, and the classes are designed in Harvard Model. The college consists of many Sports facilities like Swimming Pool, badminton court, cricket and football grounds, basketball court, etc.

Hostel Facilities :

The current hostels are occupied by 2 per room, and the hostel rooms are decent. The Hostels consist of a Bunk bed and AC, which run from 8 at night to 8 in the morning. The rooms have a study table with light and switch boards, cupboards to store clothes, a mirror, and a white board. The hostels have 24 hrs current and water supply. The washrooms consist of geysers and showers. The hostels are well-secured and consist of all the safety features. The registration process is smooth as the committees take care of the process and make it hassle free.

Admission :

To be eligible for admission, one must have at least 60% in 10th, 12th, and under graduation. In addition to that, they have to clear the CAT Exam, which will be conducted on the last Sunday of every November. Post the CAT exam after the results are declared, the cut-off for general candidate students is 82 percentile overall and 70+ percentile in each section. After the exam, every student who meets the criteria will receive a mail from the CAP, and they have to fill in the details. The GD, WAT, and PI slots will be scheduled, and they will be conducted on the said date. After the interview, based on the candidates, 10th,12th, and Graduation percentages, along with Work experience and performance in GD, PI and WAT will be taken into consideration and the shortlists will be rolled out.

The placement committee organises all placement activities. A lot of opportunities are available. About 120 companies visited for final placements with a similar number of offers being made. The highest package is 25 lakhs. 100% placement has been recorded. Being a premier institute, lots of opportunities after education.

Placement Experience:

For the summer internships, certain big names come after the second month of starting college whereas the majority typically come around the second term which is from October to December. On account of Covid-19, the level of placement has come down drastically with most of the companies being startups. As far as final placements are concerned, there is a lot of scope for finance and moderate expectations for marketing and little to slim for operation roles. The placement percentage always becomes 95 or 100% either by forcefully putting students in irrelevant job roles or making them withdraw from the process.

Remarks:

The only problem in this college is the infrastructure. Most of the buildings are very old and especially our department building is quite old and prone to leakage during rain. Other than that the college is quite good and well equipped with a big library and wifi facilities are also provided.

Remarks:

Overall the College is a good college. But there are too many levels of hierarchy. We never really know who is the main head of the institution because there are so many people like Principal, Chairman, Director, Coordinator etc. The university the college is affiliated under is not good. Anna University is keen on looting student's money.
