Remarks :

As IIM Jammu comes under CAP call, I received CAP call. I cleared all the minimum criteria of CAT Sectionals for eligibility as I availed for OBC reservation criteria; I get calls even with lower percentile in some sectionals. I got called for EOI (Expression of Interest). Then they shortlisted the students for the Personal Interview round. PI happened online due to Covid. My interview was focused on my past, graduation, and why MBA. Once interviews were over, the college started clearing the waitlist. Here IIM Jammu doesn't show your waitlist number, and this makes everyone who is waiting for a call restless. There should be a waitlist number for students so they can take further decisions.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose MBA core as this is a flagship course. Faculty at IIM Jammu are experienced Ph.D. holders from top institutes from all around the world. Exams are case-based and open books that are very easy to pass, but you need to focus on daily learnings from sessions.

Class Size : 61Course Fees : INR 775440 per year

Placement Experience :

Placements at IIM Jammu are better than most of the new-generation IIMs in India. MBA batch 2021-23 may have placements near about 15 LPA. For the batch 2020-22, it was 13.5 LPA. All the eligible students get placement in companies all around the world. Institute provides students with internship opportunities for summers.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

IIM Jammy hiked their fees recently, and they keep increasing them by 8-15% yearly. Institutes will provide you best library solutions along with Bloomberg Lab for finance enthusiasts. Campus placement at IIM Jammu can cross more than 15 LPA average for batch 2021-23.

Campus Life :

IIM Jammu is operating in transit campus as it will move all its operations to Jagti in July 2023. The new campus is located on hills for 200 Acres of land. More than 10 committees and 20 clubs actively work at the institute. Empyrean is the flagship annual fest of IIM Jammu.

Hostel Facilities :

Students at IIM Jammu face problems in hostel facilities due to the transit campus, which will get resolved once everyone gets transferred to new hostels. The new hostel consists of Single sharing rooms, personal air conditioning, a hillside view, an ample cupboard, and much more. Hostel and mess are mandatory for all the students. Mess food is not up to the mark but they are trying to improve. It represents dishes from all over India.

Hostel Fee : INR 150000 per year

Interview Experience :

It was the time of Covid in India after the CAP call; we got our interview schedule. Our interview happened online, where there were five panelists from multiple items. There was now WAT and GD. The interview was based on experience, current affairs, and GK. Questions such as highest civilian, gallantry award, finance rates, etc.

As far as IPM is considered, there is no such record of placement for this course as of now. Although we will be taking placements along with the existing MBA core batch, hence, our packages will be somewhat similar to them only.

The placement cell and the committee has the responsibility for placements. And the 100% placements is there. This year the average package has gone around 16 lakhs. Min. was around 10 lakhs. Intership also got 100% placements. So placement records are good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant and has practical implications. I enjoy studying the diverse courses that are offered. Lots of cases are discussed and a lot of discussions are conducted. Exam frequency is okay considering we have only mid-term and end-term exams.

College provides 100% placements. The committee ensures that the students get placed in the best organizations with good package. We also have the option of outsourcing. However, with the record until now college placements have been good with the highest package being 65LPA.

since the starting of the Second year at IIM Jammu. The students are eligible for the campus placement. But the companies has different criteria for the eligibility, sometime it may be cutoff based on the campus current CGPA or the major subject selected in the 2nd year by the students. Placement Experience:

After the completion of 2 semesters, we are eligible for on-campus placement and after the 2 sems, companies also start coming to smvdu . ICICI, SRIRAM, Berger, etc are the companies that come here. The highest package is 420000 and 320000 is the lowest package the companies provide here. 50-60% of students get placed and it totally depends upon the caliber of the students how they crack the interview. I want to work in an MBC and want to earn good money.

My first year MBA experience

Admission:

The admission to the course is based on the exam called CUCET which is conducted by the college for masters courses. The admission process is online and students can swatch for the application forms there.

Placement Experience:

Companies like Wipro and Infotech are some of the few which visit the college and have a process of recruitment. In general, the college can improve in the area of placements since not many students are granted placements.
