Remarks :

Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration is the best college of commerce in Kolkata. It is a government college that provides Bachelor's and Master's courses to students of the commerce stream. Previously, they also used to have MBA courses. The fees are affordable and they also have good placement cells. The professors are really good and the non-teaching staffs are really friendly and polite. Though there are some delays regarding notifying the students about something the overall environment is good.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Exams are semester based which is 2 semesters per year and a total of 6 semesters throughout 3 years for a bachelor's and 4 semesters over 2 years for a Master's. They follow the new CBCS syllabus introduced by the University of Calcutta in the year 2017 like all other colleges affiliated with the university. Though Internal exams are totally on the college authority and they prepare questions that help the students to warm up for the semester exams. Faculty members are motivating and take students' interests and welfare into consideration.

Class Size : 65Course Fees : INR 2500 per year

Placement Experience :

Big companies like Ernst & Young and Deloitte offers placement to the students. Seminars are held by different institutions and companies as well. Good packages are offered to the students on an average of 3.5 LPA which can be considered very well in a city like Kolkata.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is quite affordable at around Rs. 800 per semester. The scholarship is not available from the college. The placement cell is really good. Big corporate companies like Ernst & Young and Deloitte offer on-campus jobs to students.

Campus Life :

Campus life is very peaceful. Hostel service is not available. A big lobby in front of the college, a students' lift is available, common rooms, table tennis, carroms, clean classrooms, and washrooms. Everything is well maintained.

My college life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course overall was good. There were a lot of scope for students to score good marks. I had MCQ papers as well. We had vivas, presentation and projects during the years. I had 2 semesters every year. And every semester had there specific exams. Sometimes it used to become very pressuring but it also made me push myself.

Admission:

Student seek admission in Mcom via test.It requires a Bcom degree graduate with 10+2+3 system .Final year graduation student may fill application under 40% quota.Selected candidates are then passed through counselling session and finally given admission after document verification.

Placement Experience:

This college is not so good at placement .Only few students get placed.Others have to go offline placements and seek opportunity.Sometimes students end up enrolling into teachers training classes so as to be open for becoming teachers in their respective fields.

Seniors are very helpful here you want to know about anything or have any doubts then you can directly approach any senior you see and definitely they will help you in the best way they can. There is no ragging here and you can hardly spot an difference between seniors and juniors.
