Remarks :

Overall ILS Law College is a fantastic college and if I were to do my Law again, I would opt for the same college but for a Five-year course, as I would get two more years to spend at this wonderful place. Though I would not say the same about the University, I hope the College becomes autonomous soon.

Entrance Preview :

During my admission, the criteria was the percentage of marks you scored in your previous degree and it varied from year to year. However, now it is as per the marks scored in the entrance examination conducted by the State Government.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The College is affiliated to Pune University, therefore, the college follows the prescribed syllabus. On a personal note, I feel that the subject Environmental Law must be made optional. The syllabus is theory oriented but since the college takes utmost effort to take it to practical learning as far as possible by holding self-participative legal aid camps and legal aid cell.

Internships Opportunities :

The college does provide internship opportunities but you have to register for the same. The internships to the deserving students are offered at reputed companies and firms on the recommendation of internship in charge. There are rumours that it is biased but I have neither good nor bad experience from the same. The stipend is at the discretion of the firm which offers the internship.

Placement Experience :

Perhaps this is the only dark spot in the otherwise excellent college. An exorbitant amount is charged in the name of placement training and registration fees. The trainers who come lack proper knowledge of English. The recruiters generally do not take up students from three-year law course. The placement records are bad and there are rumours of nepotism on part of coordinator, but then again no comments on the same

College Events :

The college Conducts a national level: moot court competition, Debate, Alternate Judgment Writing Competition and other events subject to availability of time. Many other academic Seminars at National level are also conducted annualy Besides an intra-college Annual fun fest in the name of Legal Ease is conducted over a duration of 10 days at the end of December, Also a drama fest is conducted in the month of February.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

For the three-year course, the fees are around Thirty-Five Thousand annually which includes Library Fees, Fees for Gym and Swimming pool. I feel the fees are quite reasonable for the facilities provided. The Hostel fees are separate and not included in this.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

To the best of my knowledge, there isn't any such scheme but all the scholarship schemes approved by the state and national Government can be availed.

Campus Life :

The Gender ratio is almost balanced. However, the last I knew 62% of the population comprised of girls. The campus life is pretty much chill. There is no mandatory uniform but a level of decency is to be maintained. The students here are from diverse cultures and various parts of India. The student base also boasts of students from Bhutan, Korea, and African Countries.

Hostel Facilities :

The Following info is only for Boys Hostel: The hostel rooms are not very great but since the college is in the heart of the city it is value for money. The Single room fees is Sixty Thousand which is quite decent, the same can't be said for twin sharing rooms whose charges are minimum Fifty Thousand. The Cost of mess is separate and comes around Three thousand Rupees depending you opt for College Mess or private tiffin service. There are occasionally issues with regards to washrooms and solar heaters, so if you are a pampered kid this is not the place for you. But it is the brotherhood that exists within this hostel that is what makes this place special. The Rooms are easily available.

Alumni/Alumna :

There is no such specified network but the Seniors are the ones that make ILS a notch above the rest. The ever helping seniors are the true teachers outside our classes they are the ones from whom I hugely gained my knowledge from as they are with us throughout the day, especially in the hostel. The alumni truly promote genuine talent and also help in gaining internship opportunity.

Exam Structure :

The exams are bad and the corrections are verse there is no consistency in the pattern of correction and generally I would call it a self-respect killer. If you are used to high percentage then this is not your place be prepared for some really low scores. But I cannot blame the college for the same as paper checking is done at the University level.

Admission :

Subject to your name appearing on the eligibility list an interview is conducted which is relatively easy and to my knowledge everyone on the list cracks it which is then followed by a document verification process on the college being satisfied with the authenticity of documents you have to pay the fees online or by demand draft while submitting the receipt of were you can opt to enroll for the College Hostel (Subject to availability and preference is given to people with higher percentage)

Faculty :

It has some truly renowned faculty and great faculty like Sir. Sanjay Jain who has absolute command over Constitutional Law, Dr. Nilima Bhadbhade who is a master in the field of Evidence Law and Contractual Law she is also the Author of Pollock And Mulla on Contactual Law, which is one of the most used Standard Text Book. The college is filled with a list of other renowned faculties too. Besides the excellent visiting faculty from the profession add the much-needed professional touch to the Procedural subjects. This part would be incomplete if I fail to mention the names of Adv. Ghanoo and Adv. Gujrati from whose vast knowledge of procedural laws we have greatly benefited.

The course covers all the relevant subjects of law. One can pursue advocacy in either civil or criminal side as the course covers both the topics very well. The teaching method is from books and by using power point presentation. The exams are held on a timely basis and are medium to hard in difficulty level.

The syllabus for teaches us the knowledge required to be a part of the law fraternity. But the actual applicability of the syllabus can be seen as different from what is taught in the curriculum. Practical knowledge of what is taught needs to be done

After 8th semester students become eligible for the placements. Basically it is the field of skill set. If one has that skills of a good lawyer he or she must be settled anyhow. Around 60 percent student gets placed evey year. The highest package is of around 10 lakhs and average if of 3 to 4 lakhs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course 8/10 aa course is highly good for me and i chose this field because of the respect it have our curriculum is good only as first 2 years we have BLS subjects then we have law subjects after that. As it is an integrated course it surely serves the purpose and makes you ready for real-life field only but as we have 75-25 pattern it gets hard to write that much in the examination in that much hour also we have to prepare for internals alot then assignment costs alot of time and make the whole study schedule hectic

Placement Experience:

The placements are provided by the university based on merit to the students of the undergraduate honours batch and bba batch. The same facility is not available for the adjudication and justice batch for obvious reasons. However, the university facilitates them by supporting internships of judicial nature and other internships too.
