SUK Admissions 2024

SUK Admission is open for various courses at UG, PG, Distance Education and PhD level. Admission is based on the merit as well as entrance exams. Applicants seeking admission to PhD and other courses  like BEd, B.LibSc, BA, MCA, MA, and MSc are selected based on merit obtained through the entrance test conducted by the university.

Students planning for admission to BTech at Shivaji University Kolhapur have to clear MHT CET examination. For admission to MBA and MTech individuals must obtain a valid score in GATE and MAH MBA CET. MHT CET 2024 for admission to BTech is ongoing till May 17, 2024. For registration individuals have to register at (https://cetcell.mahacet.org/). For admission in BEd, B.LibSc, BA, MCA, MA, MSc and PhD, students must register at SKU Admission and pay the application fee as follows:

Students clearing the MHT CET cutoff will be eligible for state-level counselling. During the counselling, an individual must select SUK for admission. Students applying through CAP must complete an online application for admission to Shivaji University Kolhapur.

SUK Distance Education 2024

SUK offers distance education for courses such as B.A, B.Com, M.A, M.Com, MBA and M.Sc. Shivaji University DDE Admissions are entrance exam based, and students can apply through the official website of the university. 

  • For admission to the B.A. distance program, individuals need to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in the 10+2 examination.

SUK Cutoff 2024

Shivaji University offers scholarships to students from both the PG and UG departments. Every year, the university awards 500 scholarships (worth INR 5,000/—and INR 10,000 per annum). Students view on course curriculum

I have taken Electronics and telecommunication undergraduate program As our country has future plans in Semiconductor industry .The college need some modern day equipment to teach as they are not available

Companies recruiting from the campus, highest and average package being offered

Our college have great placement ratio in textile department but in core branches there is less placement ratio.In our college companies like Capgemini, accenture , wipro ,Bosch come for placement. My college highest package is 18,000,00and Average is 3,00,000. I have to study further and Complete my Post-graduation

Fees of the course per semester

I have to pay 70000 rupees as a Obc student and per semester there 1700 examination fees and the total College fees is approximately like 1,50,000 for open category student and Mahadbt scholarship is provided in our college

Students view on campus life

As I said our college Campus is too small but Our college has annual function which are to be held in February month also our college takes part in Sports organised by University . Our famous place in college is startup katta where students come with their ideas and start their startups

Accommodation facility nearby campus premises

As our college is doing the work of building hostel so we are now living in private rooms which are taken on rent . The College canteen has average meal quality . Now hostels are not available so there's no registration process. I live in Mahasatta Chauk, Ichalkaranji

Students view on faculties

The faculty members are too supportive they help students. I like Dashrath Gupta, Shivtej sir they are extra ordinary teachers, they helps students to grow forward.Magdum sir is not good for engineering graphics, he didn't teach good. There are two insems which has 25 marks per test and endsem is of 50 marks. The exam papers are quite difficult for the students who are careless towards their study

Admission process and eligibility criteria

I have applied to VPKBIT PUNE but the cutoff percentile of that' college is 87 in MHT -Cet but I didn't get that much percentile I have 83.53 percentile in MHT -Cet . The admission process of our college you have to appear for jee mains or MHT -Cet entrance examination in that you have to qualify for their cutoff percentile

Night Life

Our college has gym which is on 5 th floor not in Good condition as it doesn't have any investment in their equipments . OUR college campus Open upto 8:30 pm in night as there some of students are studying in reading labs or doing their project in computer labs

One of my friends recently graduated from Shivaji University. According to him, it is quite different from other universities. Let me share the tips he provided which might help you in the beginning of your 1st year.

  • First of all, try preparing for the university exam from your first day of college, if scoring good marks is important to you.
  • There will be a lot of assignments given to you. Try completing them in the given time with proper precision. As this will be beneficial for your university exams.
  • You must be accustomed to self-study as depending completely on the faculty members might lower your chances to score higher marks.
  • Concentrate on the practicals as they will provide hands-on experience.
  • Make sure you maintain a 75% attendance. Attendance also depends on your internal marks so prepare well.
  • For theoretical questions try writing lengthy and informative answers, as this will fetch you good marks.

Lastly, try maintaining good behavior by being punctual, attentive, and sincere. If you fail to behave properly it will affect your internal marks, which will overall affect your scorecard.

  • Go to the official website: https://cetcell.mahacet.org/.
  • Click on the admission tab on the top right corner of the page.
  • Read the instructions carefully before filling out the application form.
  • The application form must be completed online on the university's official website.
  • Fill in the required personal and educational details.
  • Next, upload the required educational documents.
  • While filling out the form, you will have to upload a recent photograph taken against a white background. 
  • The photograph should have a size between 20 Kb and 50 Kb.
  • After submitting all the requisite information, pay the counseling fees online.

  • For other courses, candidates must take the entrance tests organized by Shivaji University to be selected.
  • Students applying for admission in BEd, BA, MCA, MA, MSc, and PhD must register at SKU Admission and pay the application fee of INR 600 per program.
  • Admission in courses such as LLM, M.Lib.Sc and MEd, individuals must pay the application fee of INR 300.

It is not mandatory to attend the workshops conducted by Shivaji University. Besides this, the registration of Workshop can be done on the official website of the university. The registration fee is INR 1 thousand for UG/PG and INR 2000 for Research Scholars.

Yes, there are hostel facilities offered to both boys and girls. The room rent is very low around INR 1850 per year. The total fee of hostel is INR 4750 per year. This includes Admission fee, Room rent, hostel, sport and club fee, water and electricity charges, reading room charges, hostel and lock deposit etc.

You can pursue the Master in Mathematics from the Shivaji University, Directorate of Distance Education - [DDE], Kolhapur. The course is part-time in the nature.

Admission to PhD courses at SUK Kolhapur is done based on UGC-CSIR-NET, SLET, SET, GATE, PGDTE, BET or GPAT exam followed by counselling and the exam dates for them will begin by June 2024.

The fee structure for M.Com course is INR 4,800 for 2 years and the admission is done based on MHT-CET exam which has already been over by June 2023.
