Remarks :
The majority of college administration is very rude, unsupportive and adamant. You have to run for anything to be done. Off all Examination Department is the most unresponsible.
Entrance Preview :
JEE Mains. My score was 196 but since i had a low percentage in boards exam my AIR was over 50k so based on the reputation of BIT, Mesra I opted for this college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is very extensive and since the syllabus is not regularly revised you can find it a bit outdated as compared to the industry requirement. So you have to take out extra time to study those extra things to get an edge over others. At the end, you will have to attend extra coachings for competitive exam preparation.
Internships Opportunities :
No, In the past four years I can hardly remember a total of five companies who have shown interest in providing internships either on regular basis or in summer/winter vacations. For getting any internship or training you have to enroll from www.internshala.com .
Placement Experience :
The placements till 2011 batch was good but it declined from the year onward. Now in the current batch maximum of 30% students got placed through in campus companies visit, out of which maximum of them got placed in a mass recruiter. But many of them got placed through off-campus procedures.
College Events :
There are several fests organised in the college every year. It begins with IEEE Student's branch Abhivyakti which helps in showcasing your technical skills. Then comes the inter branch athletics meet, inter college sports meet and the annual technical fest Technika. In the midst of all these various sports activities and cultral activities are organized on a regular basis.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees of the current fiscal year are a bit on a higher side. Since it is a private college so the entire fees have to beared by the students. The fees per semester in the engineering curriculum is around 1.25 lacs inclusive of hostel and mess fees which are gradually by 5-7 thousand per semester.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The College provides the scholarship to the meritious students based on every semester result and their family income. The scholarship can be as high as 100 percent. Even the Bihar government provides scholarship based upon their criteria. One can easily avail loan facility from any recognized banks after showing collge bonafide.
Campus Life :
The campus life is once in a lifetime moment. Regarding fest and extracurricular activities the facts are mentioned above. The students are from all parts of the country with a gender diversity of boy:girls approx. 4:1. Campus life is simply astounding but the labs are below average with lack of essentials instruments.
Hostel Facilities :
We have an excellent hostel and mess facility. There are a total of four hostels with three boys and one girls hostel. The mess operates on no profit/loss basis and the food menu is decided entirely by the students. The hostels are maintained with 24 hours internet facility via LAN.
Alumni/Alumna :
As mentioned since the placements are below average and internships are very scarce so you always need to have a good network of the alumnus to help you guide through the future. Generally the seniors are very helpful.
Exam Structure :
The exam takes place two time every semester namely mid sem and end sem. The mid sem consists of 25 marks and end sem comprises of 60 marks while the remaining 15 marks are internal marks. The internal marks depends upon your class performance and your marks in class tests.
Admission :
Until 2012 the admission was conducted by CSAB but after that there is separate form to be filled and applied basically in the last week of June and then a separate merit list is generated based on which the admissions are conducted. For admission you have to visit the Patna campus.
Faculty :
It consists of mix bunch of faculties with some highly experienced faculties. For some branches like civil and mechanical, the faculties are highly rated and experienced as compared to other branches. But it doesn't matter on your attentiveness in classes you will always have to rely heavily on your self-study.
