Remarks

The eligibility for B.des in IILM University, Gurugram is to get minimum of 50% marks in the 12th standard. Once you apply you are eligible for a personal interview with the faculty, leading which, you will be informed about your status of admission, whether you get in or not. The procedure in itself is pretty simple and hassle-free. You can always contact the admissions office to get to know more or visit the website iilm.edu.in

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have always been creative and wanted to go into the fashion industry and explore all the different fields in it. In Fashion Design and Management we learn not just designing but parts of fashion communication and fashion management as well. As design majors, we are given the freedom to pick our elective from either one of the following: department of journalism, department of management or department of psychology/liberal arts. The curriculum is industry based and focuses on practical knowledge. The faculty is always available to clear doubts and have their own unique and innovative ways of teaching their respective subjects. The professors always provide constructive criticism and are always striving for clearing doubts in the best ways possible. We don't have written exams but a jury and portfolio to work on which you will have to work on from the start.

Internships Opportunities

4

The university tries to bring in big companies for internships and placements and as a design student, it is on your own calibre and the portfolio the kind of offers you receive. The professors help you prepare for the whole process from building skills to mock interviews, you will be guided.

Placement Experience

3.5

As a first-year student, I can't say much about the placements yet but we are taught industry knowledge that already builds and prepares us for in-real-life industry work. Internships start from the first semester in itself, the first one being in an NGO, provided by the college or of your own choice.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is pretty affordable compared to other fashion schools. There are various scholarships available which you can always check out on the website and can get further information about.

Campus Life

4

The campus has various libraries for different departments and is well equipped, air-conditioned and has a good variety of books available. We have a separate library for the design department with books related to interior and fashion both fields. The classrooms are well-equipped and lockers are provided to keep the portfolio bags. The university holds a lot of guest lectures and regularly conducts fests and different clubs conduct different activities of all sorts in which you can take part. The university has a number of clubs and you can be a part of as many as you want to be, ranging from design club, cultural club, sports club, entrepreneurship club, placement cell, etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Both the girl's and the boy's hostels are on campus. The rooms are triple sharing and have basic amenities like wifi and ac. Each room has an attached bathroom that the roommates share. Along with that we are given a study table, a cupboard and a bedside drawer. Each floor shares a fridge, washing machines, press iron and a drinking water system. The registration in itself is pretty easy, you can always contact the admissions office for further details. The university is situated in the heart of gurugram and thus has everything at arm's length. PGs and apartments around are also available at a 5-10 minutes walk.

Interview Experience

4.5

once you fill in the application form, you get a meeting for the personal interview assigned to you where you get interviewed by the faculty members and get to interact with them. A portfolio to showcase the faculty for the design department during the personal interview is always a plus one. You need a minimum of 50% marks in 12th standard from any recognized board to be eligible for admission.
