Remarks :

There is an entrance exam to get IITs in India. First, you need to apply for JEE mains. The application fee is 650/exam. You need to score appx. 87%le to qualify for jee advanced. Your JEE Advanced rank will consider for IIT admission. For IIT Madras you need Appx. AIR 8000.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is medium to tough. You need to study well to maintain a high cgpa. Here the system is relative grading. So toughness of the paper will not affect the cgpa. Scoring a cgpa of 9 and above is very tough.

Class Size : 82Course Fees : INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

There are many opportunities available for internships on campus. Many famous companies visit IITM for internships. Previous recruiters are Amazon, Google, Flipkart, Microsoft, Sprinklr, Samsung, Swiggy, Adobe, etc... Placement Experience :

Placement is very high at IIT Madras. Most of the students getting placed and some of them choose higher studies and others are interested in entrepreneurship. The average package in IITM is 21.48 Lakh per annum. And the highest package offered is 2.14 crore per annum.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Normally You need to pay a tuition fee of RS 100000 Per semester. But You will get a fee waiver according to your annual income. If your family's annual income is less than 100k you don't need to pay any tuition fees. If it is between 100k and 500k you only need to pay 1/3rd of the tuition fee. Above this you need to pay some extra fee including festival charges and there will be a hostal fee appx. 70k per year. There are many other scholarships available in institutes provided by the central government, Institutes, and private companies

Campus Life :

IIT madras campus is very beautiful and green. You can see many types of deer on campus. There are many clubs on campus. You can join according to your interest. different Arts clubs, sports clubs, and many other clubs are here. Saarang and shastra are the fests of IITM which is very famous around the world.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel is clean and very good. Nowadays due to the increased number of students, they changed single occupy the room to double and double sharing to triple. But these rooms are big. This is enough for 3 students. Their LAN service is available in the hostel. There are many staffs for cleaning purposes and the hostel provides Lift and washing machine services.

Average college but a good place to study on your own

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Students who pursuing five and sixth semesters onwards are eligible to attend the placements and internship. Mostly the IT companies are visited frequently and core companies are low. The Highest package is 9LPA. The percentage of college placement is 78 percent. I planned to make higher studies after my degree.

Reality of Veltech

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Best place ever visited. My Sweet College.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
